Hi, I'm Charles (they/them)! I'm an autistic musician, animator, filmmaker, researcher, writer, and historian.

Most of my letters will be typed, and usually in large, clear serif font. Please be sure to write to me in large print so I can easily read it, as my eyesight is poor. If you have a CD player and/or a DVD player, I'll send you some media.

My favorite bands are The Beatles and They Might Be Giants. Ask me anything about them. I know this sounds corny, but I love all kinds of music. I'm also very much into Frank Zappa, The Doors, Talking Heads, Stevie Wonder, SML, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and indie music from 2009 to 2011. Remember RCRD LBL?

I like '60s, '70, '80s, '90s, and especially 2000s era aesthetics and ephemera. Five decades, such a rich pool to pull from. For instance, in my room, I have a CRT TV from 2005, an answering machine, a VCR, a DVD player, a CD player which is the exact model I had as a kid, a 2009 MacBook laptop, and a mini-fridge. Plus, huge collections of records, cassettes, CDs, DVDs, and VHS tapes. I like to live my life pretty old-school... I don't want anything to do with the 2020s anymore.

I listen to a lot of NPR and watch a bit of PBS. I love watching movies and old TV shows. I like playing board games and video games sometimes. I love animals, and have had many wonderful pets in the past. We can talk about anything, as not much offends me.

Anything. Seasonal stuff is nice. Stickers, washi tape (I'll put them on my guitar), postcards, anything you think is interesting... Wait, you can send tea in the mail? Books! Records, cassette, VHS tapes, CDs and DVDs!!! Anything in that ballpark. Even letters. Handwritten or typed, I appreciate it all.

Don't send me anything generated by AI, as it defeats the purpose of the human connection fostered by letter writing. I'm not interested in religious stuff, sorry. I'm also not a bigot, so MAGA crap is unwelcome. And hey, if you have skin thin enough that this clear boundary offends you, just block me and move on!
