its a sugary ice & fruit sorbet with cherry syrup. these were so common for me growing up but apparently not many people have heard of this!
This is a 'frikandel speciaal'. A meat roll with mayonnaise, ketchup or curry sauce and onions.
One of my favorite cookies is the 'stroopwafel'. It's a waffle with syrup or caramel in it. The right way to eat it is to warm it up above your cup of tea.
This bread with resins, almond paste and powdered sugar on top of it is called a 'kerststol'. Traditionally eaten with Christmas (kerst) but nowadays it's eaten almost every (holi)day.

Shakshuka -- Red tomato sauce with poached eggs & alot of seasonings. Israeli food was my favorite growing up.
