I'm a mixed medial artist residing in Phoenix, Az. I'm a legal assistant by day and artist by night, very left/right brained! I've presented at local art museums, colleges and adult centers in the state and am locally displayed at Red Dog Gallery in Phoenix, Az. See my website and profile to view my work. I was chosen to teach at Art Unraveled, www.artunraveled, again this year on August 6, 2010, a class titled Faux Sew Simple. My present passion is recycled assemblage and collage. I love to travel and am very social. I love the gothic art style, Day of the Dead and Halloween. Black, orange, lime, turquois, green, burgundy, who has favorite colors? They are ALL good! I'm an avid woman's libber and have helped many young women have a more powerful, enriched, life. I love modern, avantgard themes. I'm spiritual, but not religious. I like to add items into my art that mean something to me...religious icons, skulls, gravestones, baby teeth, hair, old photo's...anything that brings questions into the viewers mind and brings my work to life. I am a lover of beauty and beautiful things. I am very creative and believe I can color match anything, an ability I was born with, a master faux painter and calligrapher. I'm very eclectic, artistic, outspoken and am like my zodiac sign...Sagittarius. I was born on the cusp, on a full moon, very intuitive. I know when something is going to happen before it actually does. I love the smell of the desert after a rain, that first scent of fall, my favorite season, brownies and warm chocolate chip cookies. I'm an organization freak, love lists, anything tiny and multiples. I prefer silver to gold and always choose black. If I had to do it over again...I'd have been a goth queen when I was younger. I'll paint anything that sits still long enough and even those things that move. I'm well knows as a Halloween Diva to my friends. I dress each year for Halloween and do special effects make-up. I'm an avid decorator and designer, prefer modern and retro 1950 and 1960's style to anything else, mid-century modern. I like art deco jewelry, meaningful art quotes and the works of the Masters. Van Gogh, O'Keeffe and Picasso are my favorites...but I melted for Monet's Water Lillies when I saw the work in person, which we all need to do if given the chance. Art is my life, color is my soul. I'm a health food junkie and exercise to stay in shape and care for my body. I read magazines on natural health and believe that the mind can heal the body. I believe in the power of positive thinking. I'm a mother, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, niece, friend, confidant, artist, and creative soul. I love Shasta Daisies and crosses. I have a wall of crosses on my bedroom wall. I have a European outlook on death, I believe it's an extention of life and should be embraced and accepted in everyday life. Above all I'm a positive person who loves each day.
