My name is Lynn. I am 29 years old, and I am a high school English and Reading teacher. I have been teaching at my high school for over 8 years.

I used to play roller derby for the Tallahassee Rollergirls, but an injury has kept me out of the game for quite some time now. I still enjoy going to games and keeping in touch with the girls. I love rollerskating and love anything that has to do with rollerskating.

My favorite colors are black and orange. I love Halloween and anything that is dark, spooky, or vintage gothic (I am NOT one of those modern gothic people who wear black lipstick and shop at Hot Topic). When I say gothic, I mean old-fashioned gothic... chandeliers, ravens, victorian houses, lace, etc.

I do not have any children and do not plan on having any. I teach children all day at work and that is enough for me!

I have 3 cats (Joey, Bailey, and Holden) and like things with cats on them.

I really like cherries (my kitchen is decorated with them).

I also really like cupcakes or anything baking/candy related.

I love old photography (black and whites) and have been known to purchase old photos of random people/strangers at vintage/junk shops, just because I like to imagine what the lives of the people in the pictures might have been.

I really don't like any music that's been made in the past 20 years. I really like 80's music, and I also really enjoy classic rock. I also like oldies (50s and 60s) and big band music is great, too.

I pretty much like anything that was made in the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, or 80's, except for opera, rap, or country. Ick!

I do not like westerns, mysteries, or books about horses, dogs, or war.

I read a ton because I'm a teacher, and recently, I have really enjoyed the following books: The Cypress House, Winter Garden, and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

My favorite school books to teach are Romeo and Juliet, The Battle of Jericho, The Secret Life of Bees, and The Great Gatsby.

I think I am the only English teacher in the world that DOES NOT enjoy Harry Potter or Twilight.

Romeo + Juliet (the newer one with Leo DiCaprio), Pay It Forward, Ghostbusters I You've Got Mail, The Wizard of Oz, Full Metal Jacket, Gone With the Wind, Chicago, A Christmas Story, Coraline...

and anything with Steve Martin. I ADORE Steve Martin.I know he's made some bad/cheesy movies, but I love everything that's he's done. He has also been playing the banjo for decades, but just recently has released 2 music albums (I have both!). He is also a writer, and I have several of his novels as well. He is much smarter than he appears in some of his goofy films.

I also really like Jimmy Stewart and Tim Burton.

Sewing, Knitting, Scrapbooking, and I also really enjoy doing Postcrossing.

ATCs! I see all kinds of swaps for them, and I would really like to join. However, after doing some "research" about them online, I am really intimidated. I have tried to find ATC galleries to look at what other people have done (to get some ideas) but I can't find anything to help me out. I am afraid that I am going to make something that isn't up to the ATC standards, and then get rated low. SOoo.... if we are in any swaps for packages and/or stuffed envelopes, I would love to have an ATC from you!
