APDG ~ National Volunteer Week Comment swap ;-)
I am so glad you brought this to our attention that this is celebrated the week of April 10-16, 2016.
IT is also good to learn that
National Volunteer Week is about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities. National Volunteer Week was established in 1974 with thousands of volunteer projects and special events scheduled throughout the week.
I will have to see what specials are planned for the Nursing Home I volunteer with ;-)
I have painted lots of murals for the nursing home and have spent a LOT of time there working... So I have spent some time volunteering there too putting on parades & parties for them and pushing wheelchairs at the State Fair. There are pictures from the Nursing Home on my flickr too ;-) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I have also enjoyed many hours volunteering with the Disabled Veterans Art group...Art Classes & Pottery Classes & ART SHOWS & Trips too...Many friends and cherished memories ;-)

I have done lots of MURALS in children's churches and nurserys!!! Many hours, even choir production sets!!! & Volunteered many hours in nursery and children's church,,,WEEKS SPENT Working @ summer camps too!!!!
Just the last 3 Sundays I have helped in the K 5 & 1st grade Children's Church class in TREASURE COVE... with larger than expected classes of about 25 kids we had a great time. New equipment to dance & sing along with worship videos added to the excitement! ;-) Good lessons too with PALM SUNDAY, EASTER & Last Sunday we studied about the DAY OF Pentecost which is 50 days after Easter ;-) So I learned something too ;-)

Tomorrow I am working with 9th grade Special Ed Classes...
Those kids are so great! sweet! & fun to be around ;-) & they asked for me to be the one to come help them tomorrow!!!! That is so sweet!!!
It really was special to hear that!
