I, for the record, loved Mala Educación. For no good reason I haven't yet seen Volver. But I think my favorite Almodovar film, so far, was Hable Con Ella.
I saw Volver on Valentine's Day, such a great film. The colors used in the opening credits are amazing! Pedro did an excellent job. Can't wait for his next film. Have you seen Mala Educacion?
Tia! I was looking through my can of knick-knacks that you sent me..yes I love to dig through it at least once a week..and the little book you gave me, I just realized it had a voodoo doll on the cover :o Ay chica, it's toooo cute!!
I love the comment from your Uncle Leo. Brilliant! I have people who have similar, umm, cultural anchoring, in my family -- but about Jewish food/culture/experience. My mom and I were once driving on the Garden State Parkway (NJ), and there was tremendous traffic, as there always is on the Garden State Parkway, and as there always is in New Jersey. But this was particularly bad -- it appeared that cars were backed up for a few miles. And my mom very genuinely and sincerely asked, "Hmmmm....do you think this is Yom Kippur traffic?" She's nuts!

Monjita:
Have you seen Almodovar's ENTRE TINIEBLAS?
I like Almodovar's older stuff, like LA LEY DEL DESEO and MUJERS AL BORDE DE UN ATAQUE DE NERVIOS.
