About Me

Note to any partners sending to Hawaii: their PO SUCKS! Everything takes forever to get here, gets lost, ruined or any other form of disrespect. Tape envelopes very well! Before I join any swaps I have to finish my work before partners are assigned to (hopefully) ensure prompt arrival! (Two of the three swaps I've done in the year since I've moved have apparently been super late.) Tags, wishlists, private swaps, etc I think are the best bet for me! PM if you're interested and don't mind a bit of lateness! Mahalo! Also, we have a very sad 'craft store.' I really appreciate any crafty generosity: ATC blanks, glue sticks, cheap exactos, erasers for carving, etc. Thank you!

Hiya! My name is Vanessa but my friends call me Vendetti. I love nicknames, giving them and getting them. The stories behind them are fascinating and hilarious. I used to work at Starbucks so, obviously, I like coffee (but I like tea even more.) From working there for so long, I've collected quite a few mugs and tea pots.

Now that I live on the beautiful island of Kauai I work and wonderful 90% sustainable restaurant on the beach! We also have the best bar on the island so if you're ever in the area let me know. ;)

I have quite a potty mouth and enjoy dirty enuendo. I also have a very dark, dry sense of humor.. It's pretty hard to offend me. ;) Just try.

Right now I'm learning sign language. I find it so beautiful! But I don't get much practice so I'm a little nervous when talking to fluent signers.

I practically live at thrift stores! Clothes, houseware, books, purses, anything I can find! If you like to upcycle I will not be offended at all. I love to hear people are saving money/ getting the deal of the century! =)

I love moustaches, coffe, tea, Starbucks, balloons, owls, dinosaurs, the color orange, tattoos, musicals, Spider-man, coloring, dressing up, Dr. Pepper, ski ball, judge Judy, Sponge Bob, Sci-fi, thunderstorms, oak trees, fruit snacks, Video games, Zombies, blue hair, Moose, giraffes, elephants, cleaning/organizing, traveling circus, candy! (just not chocolate), and so much more.

Favorite Crafts

My favorite kinds of gifts are homemade ones.

Nothing is better then trading mix CDs! This is lost with most of the people I know so I hope to meet people that like to make and give mix CDs.

Knitting, crocheting, amateur photography, collaging (sp?), and drawing are just some of the things I like to do.

Favorite Books

I read all the time, but my favorite books are Harry Potter. I'm slightly obsessed!

Favorite Movies

I'm a big time movies watcher. I'll give just about anything a shot (but I don't really like chick flicks).

I dig musicals above all else. Rocky Horror Picture Show, Moulin Rouge, Disney movies, Dr, Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, and Phantom of the Opera to name a few.

I heart Natalie Portman movies. And Quentin Tarantino movies!

I always love Nathan Lane!! =D

Response: I pm'd you about my mail issues... Mail wasn't coming in or going out of my house. We had a week and half of flash flood warnings. The letter was still late, so I guess deserve the three but that's what happened.

I have some GOOD NEWS: Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter is now streaming on Netflix, making it easier to *spread the word!* --- I have not seen... Stardust, Hounddog, or Serenity. Just had another thought about JCVH, too - what with it the end of the world 'n' all today, I should invite some friends over and fire up that stream, no? Do you also have the Netflix? I think my mailbox has cobwebs, the hiatus was long and pretty crappy to tell you the truth, it was an uphill climb most of the way. But finally after a year of getting things back together after losing my job things are finally looking up. I have a job, the kids are doing better, bills are caught up and we are going to have a white Christmas! <3

The only thing you can do when Michael Madsen comes in to your work is pee your pants. He was in Austin a few years ago for a film festival and I followed him around like a puppy until he finally said "If I say hello to you will you please leave me alone?" I got very red and said yes, so he gave me a hug and said hello and walked away. I almost died right there. I'm way excited about the swap too. My brain is just running with movie ideas.
