Let's see where to start.

I was born in Florida, raised in the west African country of Cameroon, now back in the United States. I'm a military wife with a baby boy and have recently discovered a love for sending and receiving postcards.

Because I grew up abroad I developed a love for travel and each year I try to go someplace new. I've been to Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Central America. Next year we're planning on going to South Africa and Zambia!

Another side effect of growing up in another country has been developing a love of languages. Cameroon is a French-speaking country so I had to learn the language. In high school I studied Spanish. Later in college I studied Japanese, Chinese, and Russian. I also studied a bit of Turkish on the side. I am by no means fluent in any of these tongues but I am still fascinated with language and still study when I can. I'm currently working on Hebrew and Arabic.

I love music and I've been playing the piano since the age of five. Although I play classical music I listen to a wide variety of music including industrial, goth, and metal.

I enjoy cooking and experimenting with different recipes. I've recently been experimenting with making chocolates. My mother-in-law is from Yemen and has been teaching me how to make delicious Yemenite food. That woman makes the most amazing soups! Whenever she's abroad she sends me the most wonderful fresh spices. My favorites are cumin and zahtar!

I love cats. I always had a cat growing up. Unfortunately where we live now we can't have a cat but when my husband and I finally move someplace where we can have pets we want to get an Egyptian Mau. My husband has always wanted a Mau named Bast.
