I was taught, by my mother, at a young age to appreciate books and to love reading. I prefer to read educational material. I love books about art movements or artists, How-To books, anything science and nature related, cookbooks and biography's. I also love short stories and poetry. I use murder mysteries as a means of escape. I prefer the ones based more on crime scene investagation. My favorite authors are Kathy Reichs and Patricia Cornwell.

I respect all music as an art form. All music is a form of expression and should be respected for what it is. All music deserves its own place in society. I listen to music according to my mood. I may listen to Bach today, bluegrass tomorrow and Beyonce the next. As a general rule, I usually keep up with the top 40. If I must choose favorites, I would say women singers from all genres, someone that has an unusual sound to their voice and music from different cultures around the world.

I will give any movie a chance. I like to watch anything from cartoons to dramas. I am not particularly fond of horror or sci-fi, but have watched some of the classic ones and made it all the way through them. I don't really have a favorite one, but have enjoyed watching many. I guess I would say I prefer dramas and action the most. A little comedy here and there is good too.

TV is my least favorite of all medias. But I occasionally watch it. When I do, I usually watch Discovery Channel, Tru TV, Travel Channel, Food Network, HGTV and stuff like that. I don't care to much for sitcoms or reality shows. I do like to watch the CSI shows once in awhile.

I am not really a crafty person. I do love quilting. I come from a long line of southern women quilters. I am talking about the old way, by hand. I am more into the arts. I like to draw with graphite and colored pencil. I do a little painting. I love to do collages and really like to do mixed media work. I love photography, especially black and white. I sometimes take pictures to use as ideas for creating a piece of art. I love to recylcle things into pieces of art. I try not to spend loads on art supplies and love to find treasures in the trash. I figure if I find it and make something artistic out of it, that is one less thing taken to a landfill. So, I guess as I get older I am becoming a recycle artist.

I am a 46 year old female. I am not married and have no children. Although I love animals, I do not currently have any pets. Oh my, I just realized how boring I sound. Ha! Ha! I am a Taurus, and I fit that zodiac sign perfectly. Cooking is one of my best talents and I enjoy entertaining guests. Taurus is an earth sign and I love anything to do with nature. I enjoy growing plants from seeds and cuttings. My dream is to own a farm and grow organic vegatables and garden plants. As a true Taurus, I enjoy some of the finer things in life. I like good wines, chocolates and cheeses from around the world and fine dining. But basically, I am a country girl at heart. Taurians are usually creative or artistic in some sense. This was encouraged by my mother, as she is creative with sewing, quilting and many other crafts. Her family, as well as herself, were musically talented. She passed those creative strengths on to my siblings and I. I love art! Due to reasons beyond my control, I did not get to finish college, so I have very little formal training in art. I am mostly self-taught. I am currently teaching myself art history. The internet is a wonderful learning tool. My favorite artists are Picasso, Van Gogh, Paul Klee and Georgia O'Keeffe. My artwork tends to be mostly abstract. I can look at something totally different than most people. I can view something and see it in its simplest form and use it to create an artwork. Or I can look at its intricate details and create a work from that. I got away from my artwork for quite some time due to work and such. I have decided it is what makes me happy and I am spending more time at it now. I get bored easy, and I tend to work on several projects at the same time. I recently found ATC's and they are great. They are small and can be finished much quicker, helping me master the boredom thing. ATC's are what brought me to Swap-bot, so I look forward to swapping and making some new friends.

In my artwork, I am not prejudice to any color, all colors are equal. I tend to wear cool colors and decorate with earth tones. I love collecting the artwork of others. Drawing pencils, pens and markers have always been a fetish for me. I am very interested in unique designs and vivid colors. I like texture. I love gemstones, rocks, seashells, sea glass, nutshells and wood. I like natural products. I love flowers and my favorite is the callalily, hence my username.

I am not really into cutesy-cutesy or foo-foo. I can't tolerate perfumes or made-up scents due to issues with asthma. I do not like racism, sexism, gay bashing or sexual exploitation of anyone. I do not like it when people force their religious or political beliefs on me and are not willing to listen to mine.
