I'm Salla, an 18 years old girl from Finland. I live in a small town called Kalajoki and study in high school. I'm really interested in everything related to foreign cultures and would love to continue to study something related to them, but to be honest I have no idea about what I want to study or do later in my life.

I'm also really interested in foreign religions and politics but most of the time I just try to stay out of them because they just give me too much stress. I would describe myself an atheist (resigned from church a year ago) and extreme liberal. I'm also a member of Amnesty International.

I've been into penpalling for about 10 years now but I didn't get into postcards until 2009 when I first discovered Postcrossing. I got hooked immediately and I just knew it was a perfect hobby for me. I also love playing video games and of course listening to music, which is one of the most important things in my life.

I'd love to travel but haven't really got a chance yet. If I could choose one country to visit, that would definitely be the USA. I'm not sure where my USA addiction first started, I guess it was many years ago when I got into American punk bands. I'm currently saving money for a trip to California and especially San Francisco and maybe someday when I'm done with my studies I could also think about moving to the USA. I'd also love to visit United Arab Emirates, Jamaica, Slovenia, New Zealand and Australia.

Music is one of the most important things in my life. I'm into almost everything: punk, hip-hop, reggae, jazz, hardcore (from the 80's), pop, country, heavy metal... you name it.

My favorite band is the L.A. punk rock band Bad Religion. I saw them live in Finland last summer and I bet that was the best day of my life so far.

It's been almost 10 years since I fell in love with Harry Potter books, and they're still my favorites. I don't read many books anymore, mainly some fantasy and science fiction, but Harry Potters are the only ones I can read over and over again and still love them.

I've always loved viewcards the most -- I think that's the idea of postcards, to see how things look at the other side of the world. Especially I'm fascinated by big cities and mountains.

I love all kinds of souvenir like magnets, keyrings, bracelets (that have something characteristic to your country) and so on. I also love drinking tea, especially green and herbal tea, but right now I'm only looking for swaps with loose-leaf tea.
