My grandparents are major packrats- haven't thrown anything away since probably the 50s or 60s. So I go exploring... and normally, if I find something I like, they let me have it. The buttons are a prime example.

I'll have to ask my grandma where she got them. Somewhere in southern California, where they lived before retiring, I'm sure.

There is a lot of debate about what the latin means, as the words go in a circle and can mean different things depending on sentence structure. Here's a few...
"There is no room in the world for more than one King Ludvig (or Louis)".
"Louis, ruler of the world, can not get more."
