Punxsutawney Phil is a groundhog in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. Phil emerges from his temporary home on Gobbler's Knob, located in a rural area about 2 miles (3.2 km) east of town. Punxsutawney Phil fans say that there is only one Phil, and that all the other groundhogs are impostors. It is claimed that Phil has made weather prognostications since 1886,
Gus is the "spokesgroundhog" in more than 50 commercials for the instant scratch-off lottery games run by the Pennsylvania Lottery from 2004-2012 and 2015-present. Gus is billed as the "second most famous groundhog in Pennsylvania", as a nod to Punxsutawney Phil. His tag line is "keep on scratchin'!
