I am a 30-year-old single girl living in Sydney and trying to come to terms with being a grown-up! I work pretty hard, but when I'm not working I like to cook, read, make things, and wander the streets in the sunshine.

I love all sorts of music: classical (JS Bach, Brahms, Purcell, Britten and developing my taste for opera); jazz (Louis, Ella, Sarah right through to present-day players like Paul Grabowsky and Brad Mehldau) and the stuff they play on the radio (Coldplay, Regina Spektor, Josh Pike, The Mountain Goats, Death Cab for Cutie and lots more).

Way too many to mention! Some favourite writers are AS Byatt, Chaim Potok, Drusilla Modjeska, Dorothy Dunnett, JK Rowling, Siri Hustvedt, George Eliot and Jane (of course)!

My mum taught me to cross-stitch when I was 10 and I still love embroidering things. I like making things with paper (pretty cards and photo albumns) and am an occasional knitter. I've recently learned to crochet and made a panda bear called Alexander!
