in my former life i was a baker. I'm a SAHM now, enjoying the not-so-quiet-life with an active toddler. i didn't start knitting seriously (regularly) until 2004 and only since the birth of my son have i had a serious yarn problem. i still sew and love to make clothes, but knitting is more convenient.

my favorite colours are black, white, and red and their derivatives ( grey, pink, plum, etc.). I love brown and blue together as well as pink and brown. in the summer i venture out more in my colour choices (because the weather affects me that way) and like bright green and blues, but i still prefer bold dark colours.

in the yarn department i prefer natural fibers, the softer the better. mohair and acrylics aren't really my thing. i've been getting into knitting socks lately= receiving sock yarn, solids, varigated, hand-painted, not so much the self-patterning.

i love all things asian, especially japanese (clothes/fabric, ceramics, watercolor, you name it). I also love vintage clothes, but my collection has dwindled since the birth of my son.
