Favorite Crafts

I really enjoy scrapbooking and card making, I have been doing both for a couple of years now and am trying to get going with ATC's.

If anyone would like to swap ATC's please let me know, I'd love a chance to swap some more!

I like lots of different styles and techniques and am also pleased to see something new and a bit different. I love all things done in blue tones and don't like many things that are themed around gold!

At the moment I use lots of stickers, stamps (rubber and unmounted), quilling (I am just learning), and am getting to grips with a paper cutting system involving different shapes. A friend is teaching me how to make more complicated cards involving cutting with a craft knife (for some reason I am really bad with a craft knife!) and making different sized and shaped cards, it's really nice to learn something new!

About Me

I'm 29 years old and live in the UK. I am a full time mum, and devote quite a bit of time to helping with the things my children do and generally doing things in the local community! Most recently I became a govoner at the school my children attend.

I have two little boys, my youngest will soon start full time school and I'm hoping to find a little extra time to be able to swap some crafty things on here!

Both of my boys now play ice hockey which is becoming a big passion in our family. I would love more scrapbooking or card making things themed around ice hockey but only have limited supplies in the UK.

I am married, my husband is the same age as me and works for the NHS, and I have one older sister and a 9 year old neice.

My husband has a huge collection of all things Taz (from looney toons) related and when ever I see something with Taz on I have to buy it for him!

I love trying new sweets and chocolates and any time a new one is introduced to the market I just have to try it! What a marketer's dream!

I don't drink tea of coffee but I do like all types of hot chocolate! If anyone would like to swap UK chocolates or sweets for things local to them let me know and we can sort out a private swap some time!

I LOVE socks, it's a bit of a weird thing, I hate buying my own socks but love getting them as gifts, if I am your partner in a sock swap I am a UK 5 European 38 foot size and I love any type of sock, especially cute and querky ones!

Favorite Music

I love music and am happy to listen to lots of different types of music. In general I would say I am a fan of R&B, motown, easy listening.

At the moment one of my favourite artists is Ray LaMontagne, I've seen him live twice and would love to see him again.

I also enjoy rock music such as System of a Down and Metallica.

There are few bands/artists that I really dislike, however Neil Diamond is one of those people I can't stand to listen to!

My Past

From the age of 13 to 18 I was an Air Cadet and did loads of amazing things. I enjoyed my time so much there that I went back as a civilian instructor for a couple of years before having my children.

My time with cadets saw me doing lots of flying in various types of air craft, week long camps on RAF bases, weekend camping trips in tents, skiing, shooting, learning to half play various instruments in the marching bands, and most importantly making friends!

Things I collect

I have a large collection of crafting things obviously!

I also collect pin badges which I put on an old waist-coat which is almost full on the front now!

I collect wedgewood jasper-ware because I love the blue colour of it! And I have a large collection of silver coloured jewellery.

I'm hoping to swap more ATC's as I now have a lovely collection since I've got the hang of swapping on here!

Wish List

Ok, so I feel like having a wish list is a little selfish at the moment as I am so new to the site, so I would class it as more of a chance to say what I would like...but I don't actually expect anyone to send anything to me. I'm just really interested in these things at the moment as I haven't ever seen these things before and since joining I have seen loads of different crafts that I would love to see up close and personal! (I hope that makes sense?)

  2. The cute little plushie things that people make themselves 3..Basically anything handmade by someone
  3. ATC's
  4. Information on friendship books and how to get started.
  5. Anything ice hockey related, it's really hard to get hold of embellishments and stickers here in the UK and I would be happy to set up a private swap if you can help out?

I am geneuinly interested in crafts that other people make/do!

Comment: Hi! I loved your letter and the bookmark! Enjoy your kiddos, they grow up so dang fast! Bummer that you did not enjoy "To Kill a Mockingbird" - I read that recently and thought it was wonderful! But maybe it was due to your age at the time that you did not enjoy it. I do think it is sad that things have not improved so very much when it comes to prejuidce. I hope that you are able to get your sons to enjoy reading - I have one that does and one that does not!
