I am a Bible College student in Boise, Idaho. I'm studying to become a high school English teacher. I'm married to my wonderful husband Justin and have been since June 26, 2010. I grew up in Newport, Oregon and have an appreciation for the coast. I have a small blog that I hope will grow bigger, but for now it is just a fun project. :) I love writing, especially stories. I love discovering new things and expanding my horizons!

I love anything unique or catchy. I prefer my music fairly clean but can handle a word or two if the song is really good.

Here are a few of my favorite bands: Muse, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Mates of State, Greg Laswell, She & Him, The Civil Wars, Regina Spektor, Mika, The Decemberists, Band of Horses, needtobreathe, The Format, Ella Fitzgerald, Ingrid Michaelson, M. Ward, Pink Martini, Stars Go Dim, Matthew Perryman Jones, The Swell Season, Adele.

I also love any kind of soundtrack (a score or soundtracks to musicals), classical music, and worship music.

My favorite is classical literature for sure! There are also a lot of current fiction books that I enjoy. In general I'm not a big science fiction and fantasy fan, although I do love Harry Potter, Chronicles of Narnia, and Ender's Game. Some genres I really like are Historical Fiction, Southern Literature, Realistic Fiction, and other such genres.

Here are some of my favorite authors: Jane Austen, L. M. Montgomery, Fannie Flagg, Orson Scott Card, C. S. Lewis.

As a Christian I also love books that give a unique perspective on Christian issues: The Pursuit of God, Mere Christianity, The Life You've Always Wanted, etc.

I love period pieces like Pride & Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Bright Star, Wives and Daughters, etc.

I also love romantic comedies such as 10 Things I Hate About You, She's the Man, The Proposal, When in Rome, New in Town, So I Married an Axe Murderer, and other movies like that.

Musicals are also a favorite of mine: Hairspray, Mamma Mia, My Fair Lady, Sound of Music, West Side Story, Music Man, Fiddler on the Roof, Funny Face.

Other movies I like: The Blind Side, Despicable Me, Father of the Bride, Harry Potter, Serenity, Bella, Star Trek.

Also, ANY Disney or Pixar animated movies are so great!!

Sitcoms: The Office, 30 Rock, Outsourced, Parks and Recreation, Arrested Development, Samantha Who.

Other: Gilmore Girls (!), Bones, Veronica Mars, Parenthood, Psych, Glee.

I am a beginner sewer and have a pretty basic Brother sewing machine. I love fabrics and finding simple projects to make. I'm slowly teaching myself to crochet and I will soon be learning to cross stitch. I love any type of paper craft: paper dolls, bookmarks, cards, etc.

I live in an apartment so I am always looking for simple diy projects that double as non-permanent decor ideas.

Miscellaneous Obsessions: Disneyland, Interior Design, the Wii, Baking and Cooking, Board Games, teaching 2's and 5's Sunday School, good smelling things, other people's photography, anything and everything pretty or creative.

Other Information: I have acid reflux so I can't have caffeine or a lot of chocolate (but I love it!). I used to play clarinet and piano, but haven't played in years. I love to drink tea, light some candles, cuddle up with a good blanket, and read a good book!
