Comment: I will try to respond to your comment below.First let me respond to the decoration of the can.I understand that your son was sick and I'm sorry that he is.I have 6 children including a 6 month old.So you can imagine the illnesses i have dealt with. You used tissue paper. The tissue paper by the time it arrived was torn and and half off the can.It was not a wise choice because it is so delicate. You used magazine clippings and cut out flowers to put on top of it.You didn't bother to cut them nicely you just did it in a big circle and glued it on. It was all very haphazardly done and didn't look at all like you put in any effort.I would have rather received a message saying "my son is very unwell and your can will be a little late or really late" ..When i received it i would have given you a 5.I don't rate on when i receive something i rate on effort and the time you took to make it nice. Nextly the contents. The bunny i liked very much. The tea as well. The yarn was nice and fun yarn which i like. The Jewelry-Very nice and can be used. The first piece of fabric-Would have been nice but had teal blue paint spots on it. The second piece of fabric-Had rather large pieces of fabric already ripped out of parts of the length. The piece of crochet-Nice and was not unraveling. The second piece-almost completely unraveled. The Gloves-Nice Measuring tape-Nice looks new Hair bow-Was I'm not sure what to say at this point. Spools of thread-almost empty and not useable.
Response: Ouch. I'm so sorry you hated everything I sent. I suppose I should have put in more careful labeling so that you understood what was in the container. The "falling apart doily" was a piece of antique handmade lacework that wasn't quite finished by the original creator. The "almost gone spools of thread" were the spools found in the little cardboard box with the lacework...presumably the lady's sewing container. I honestly thought you might find them charming because it seemed that you had an interest in textiles. If you really think they're junk...then please send them back to me. They're quite old and I'll pay shipping to have them returned. I thought I was sharing my precious treasures..not polluting your stores with junk. The fabric was not from a sheet....it was portions snipped from a vintage curtain that was hanging in an old farmhouse...I thought you liked vintage and I would have sewn something out them myself. I'm trying not to have my pride wounded by the assault that was "the dirty hair bow was just uncool"...I'm sorry you hated it...again, if it truly offends you and find it repulsive...please return. I made that for you. It happens to be vintage silk (cut from the inside of an antique lady's skirt, hand sewn into a poppy and then hand dyed with a gentle tea dye to achieve a softened cream color...then I hand sewed it to the barrette reinforced with glue to make certain it would hold. I think its lovely and if you think its junk...I'll wear it with pride. Again, please return and charge me for the postage..I'll Paypal you the instant you tell me what it costs. I'm so sad that I sent you everything in that container. You're right...I could have done more to decorate it, so sue me. We all have our faults, I wasn't trying to make it look crappy for you. I had grander plans for the decoration but my infant son ended up getting sick and sucking up a lot of time with doctor appointments, medicinal applications and all the hours of rocking, nursing and pacing the floor that go with infant illness. I ran out of time. So, I decided to abandon my more complicated plans and just send it with a more minimal treatment. I figured getting the package in a more timely manner was more important than elaborate packaging. Now I'm very glad that I DIDN'T get to my more involved decorating plans. It hurts to have your carefully dreamed up efforts spat upon. I'm so hurt that you found my gifts offensive and think I'm a bad swapper. I swear to you that I securely glued everything to the container, I had no intention of sending something "falling off the can." I may give up swapbot for good now. I'm rather heartbroken.
