I just changed the swap day from the 7th to the 8th because I realized I would be out of town until then. Is one of your New years Resolutions to get organized? Is your craft room, or any room for that matter, over run with STUFF? Have you forgotten the color of the carpet in your bedroom? Is your life/house/car filled with clutter clutter clutter? Do your kids/spouse/significant other/cat ask you who's coming over whenever you start picking up? If you answered yes to any one of these questions this swap is for you! I usually need motivation when trying to get things done. Especially when it comes to cleaning. It often takes loosing my favorite pair of scissors before I clean up my sewing room. Inspired by http://www.flylady.net/ I've decided to try to dejunk-declutter my life. So here's the challenge. For 10 days (in a row if possible) I want you to pick 10 items to remove PERMANENTLY from your home/car at the end of the day I want you to email your trading partner and tell them what you got rid of and how it made you feel. Once your partners are assigned you will have until the end of the deadline to remove 100 things. If you miss a day that's ok, (I'm sure I will miss at least one day LOL) Just keep in touch with your partner. This is open to ANYONE. You only need to email your partner so that makes it available and inexpensive for everyone. I just added a flickr group by the same name. We can all upload pics and share with everyone. So what about hearts?? Hmmmmmm.....suggestions?? I hope this works for me and for you as well. And please donate what you can, pass it on to someone that can use it. I hate to see good things go to waste, which is why I often have a hard time getting rid of things. Try your local women's shelter, or a grade school or church group. And if it's a bigger item, sell it on craigslist LOL But if it's junk just let it go! If it means something to you, take a picture and then pass it on! (you know that saying "take a picture it lasts longer"? well it also takes up less room!) Just added: For hearts-everyone must send me fabric LOL just kidding, ok I like the idea of sending pictures with the emails-before and afters, or pics of the stuff you're getting rid of....but not just one pic, I think you probably need to send a bunch. It would be fun to see everyone's pics too-so if anyone has an idea how we could upload our pics to one spot or something let me know :) |
