Description:

This is the third in the series in which you create an ATC in the style of a famous artist. First we did Gustav Klimt, then we did Andy Warhol. This swap is for Henri Matisse.

Matisse was a French painter, known for his use of color in his paintings, such as "Woman with a Hat" above. He often used colors that were not natural to the object and used them along with other colors that seem to evoke conflict or dissonance within the painting. He was often referred to as a "Wild Beast" in terms of his artistic style.

You will create one ATC for one partner in the style of Matisse. Remember, you are not using one of his pieces of artwork, but are creating your own original art using his style of bright and disconnected colors.

You may use collage, drawing, painting, or other methods. Standard ATC rules apply, and you must have a good rating of 4.9 or higher. No flakers or sticker slappers.

Future artists in this series will include Picasso, O'Keefe, Monet, Dali and others. If you have a favorite, I am open to your suggestions!

Thank you for hosting this swap! Matisse is my favorite artist :) If any one would like to do private swaps for more Matisse-inspired ATCs, just send me a PM :D

What about a paper cut out in the theme of Matisse? He has a few collections of those in his repetoire of art.

That would be fine!

The next in the series is now available: Picasso!

Note: USA post offices are closed on 1/16/2012. Things dropped in the mail on late 1/14-1/16 probably will not move until 1/17.
