For this swap, you will have one partner, domestic to cut down on cost.

You will take a photograph, a very prized one, print it, mat it (if needed) and frame it. There will be no monthly themes, just make it your best work.

You will send this to one partner.

My goal for this is to have one swap a month, so at the end of the year, you have the work of 12 artists hanging in some section of your house…your own mini-museum.

The sender will frame the item, no smaller than 8x10. The image will be no smaller than 5x7. You don’t have to crop to the 8x10 aspect ratio, just mat or put a border on the paper accordingly. The frame should be black for consistency among all the swaps. More than likely, a white or black mat would be most appropriate. If you have the money and desire to go larger, feel free, but no smaller than 8x10 final product. Have the image printed professionally…If you actually have a pro printer at home use it, if not, as I expect most people will not, you need to outsource their printing to get a nice final product. Send something you’re proud of and would hang on your own wall or that your friends would hang on their wall. It needs to be ready to hang. Frames don’t have to be elaborate or fancy (or new), just nice. If you have one to recycle, that’s fantastic, if not, an inexpensive one is fine as well.

Pack it so it doesn’t break. Shipping should be around $5…hopefully.

If your partner sends you a nicely printed photo in a frame no smaller than 8x10 and it arrived on time, rate them a 5. We’re all amateurs here, even though some of us aspire to be more.
