Description:

This is part 2 in a series, but you are welcome to jump in at any time. We are making ATCs which feature a Russian Doll or Nesting Doll.

The first Russian Doll size on the card was 3 inches high, but we are now doing the 2 1/2 inch doll. You may decorate it anyway you want. You MUST place your Doll 1/4 of an inch from the bottom of the card, so when we place them in a folder/sleeve, we can see how the sizes get smaller as if they were the real dolls displayed on a shelf.

We will be making over the next couple months, so by the time the series has finished, you will have two sets of six Russian Doll ATC's.

For those who want to make their cards up in advance for the series, the Russian Dolls sizes are as follows:

2 - 2 1/2 Inches 3 - 2 Inches 4 - 1 1/2 Inches 5 - 1 Inch 6 - 1/2 Inch

Please make sure your ATC's are the standard 3.5 x 2.5 inches. Don't just put a sticker on it and call it an ATC. Use your imagination by drawing, painting etc digital images are fine as long as you embellish the ATC to make it something you made.

On the back of each card include your name, the date you made it, The number of the card eg: 1 of 1 or 1 of 2 etc, also that it is swap-bot swap as many are in different groups online and add the name of the swap or Title.

You will make TWO identical ATCs, one for each partner.

Newbies are welcome, with a filled out profile. I will angel if needed, so please let me know if you haven't received anything from your partner after a reasonable time has passed (remember, this is international and you should contact your swap partner first). Remember to rate your partner when you have received your ATC. And most important, have fun!

It is great that you have taken over this series so we can all receive what we originally signed up for. However, if you allow @sammyclaire into the swap could you please drop me. I do not want to swap with a proven double profiler no matter how nice a person she appears to be. She has stolen from many people and until those swaps are made up she should not be joining any new swaps. Clearly she does not care about this. If you also don't care about this then I do not want to be part of it. I am happy to join if sammyclaire is banned.

I don't really know the whole back story, so as an objective outsider, I can only go with what I know at this point in time. Sammyclaire started the Russian doll swap, and when she was unable to continue it due to her partial suspension, I offered to take it over so participants could finish the series. She gave me her permission to host with the specific request that there be no rating level restrictions so she could join. As this swap was originally her idea, it would be wrong (IMO) to ban her from it. She said she is working to make right the swaps where she messed up, and I hope she does.

So, I'm very sorry if you or anyone else chooses to miss the rest of the swap series. I understand your position, and I hope you understand mine. My only intent in taking over as host was to ensure the series could be finished. If anyone flakes, I will angel, just as I would for any other swap for which I am the host.

Sincerely,

Teresa

That's fine. I will drop. I cannot in all good conscience join a swap with someone who has 23 ones. It sends a message that her behaviour is acceptable to swapbot users!

CSNYfan 01/22/2012 #

What a shame that this happened. I would never have made such an agreement to begin with. And any objective coordinator can easily see that there are 23 ones on this swapper's profile.

in viewing her ratings, I see the bulk of 1s were in 2009-2010. 2011-2012 primarily has 5s. And she participated in part one of this series. IMO, if you are strongly against her, this simply is not the swap for you.

CSNYfan 01/23/2012 #

You are absolutely right about the swap not being for me, but I guess it's also about the principle of the situation. There are about seven swaps owed to people that are still active on SB and could be made up. I would not want to swap with anyone who won't fulfill prior obligations before joining and participating in new swaps. It doesn't matter to me how long ago the ones are as long as people are still here to receive the swap owed. Otherwise, the rating system becomes meaningless. But you are right, it isn't the swap for me. I am not against her, by the way. I am against not completing the swaps promised to others, by anyone.

Do you realise those swaps were under the name of @countrygirl68au @sammyclaire is a doubleprofiler, an absolute no no on a site built on trust. Until she fixes those swaps she really shouldn't in all good conscience be joining other swaps if she truly means to make it up to the people she stole from. She is extremely lucky that Rachel is allowing her to fix the errors of her past. Personally, I think she is taking advantage of Rachel and all other members by not fullfilling her past obligations before joining new swaps. I don't have anything against her personally, she seems very nice but she needs to fix her wrondoing.

Well, you two obviously have strong feelings about it, and I can see your point of view. Perhaps I'm selfish for wanting to finish the swap series, and perhaps I'm naive for taking over the swap she created and allowing her in it, but it is what it is. I really want two sets of nesting doll ATCs. That's my bottom line. I will angel for anyone who is flaked on if they let me know they did not receive their ATC, and that's the best I can do to ensure this series reaches completion.

magicjessnrach 01/25/2012 #

I'm glad you can see our point of view. I suppose that makes me unselfish because I really want my set of nesting dolls too but I won't support someone who is not following the rules!
