Unschooling, crunchy, anti-mainstream, pro-life mama to 4 boys, on a journey of personal growth and development. I do not consider myself to be an artist as I generally feel rather artistically challenged. However, I relax and get absorbed by crafting and creating, so whether it's something you like or not, know I put a whole lot of time and effort into it :)
I am Christian, so I love anything themed in that manner. I'm also a libertarian with strong beliefs about freedom and liberty. Ron Paul is a modern day hero! I also like Ayn Rand's work.
I own a Kindle, and I swear I will be buried with it! LOL I love to read more than just about anything else in the world. My perfect day would be spent in bed, surrounded by snuggly pillows and blankets, reading in absolute silence but for the fan blowing a gentle breeze over me. I try to read my Bible daily (and got "The Message" for Christmas!), my new favorite author is Max Lucado, and I still love oldies but goodies like Stephen King, Danielle Steele, James Patterson, Lee Childs, John Grisham, etc. In personal growth and development, I LOVE Alfie Kohn, John Holt, Ivan Illich, Pam Leo, Adele Farber and Elaine Mazlish, Sandra Dodd, etc. Basically, there are few books I won't read :)
I love good romantic comedies along with action and adventure movies. Lately, I've been enjoying documentaries ("Schooling The World") and musically-inclined ("Once"). I also love a good drama ("Shine of Rainbows"). I love to laugh, so comedies rate highly for me - I like all of the Harold & Kumar movies, "SuperTroopers", "Without A Paddle", and "The Gods Must Be Crazy".
Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars were two of my all-time favorite shows, but since those are now gone (darn you, WB!), I enjoy Psych, all the CSI's, Dexter, and Raising Hope. I started out really liking Glee, but I've since kind of gone all, "Meh," on it.
I really enjoy scrapbooking and card making. Stamping has become one of my super duper new favorite ways to craft. I've also had periods of time where I enjoyed and focused on one-stroke painting, counted cross-stitch, and crocheting. These days, if it has ink, I'm on it :)
~ ANYTHING which glows in the dark!!! It literally turns me into a squealing with glee 12 year old girl.
~ Colors: Light purple and dark blue, greens and blue-green colors, deep reds and burgundy...
~ Any stamps, inks, embellishments, ribbons, paper tape. I really like Tim Holtz's distressed inks by Ranger and the aged/distressed look.
~ Googly eyes Q Q
~ Things that make me say, "Awwwww," like babies and baby animals
~ Soft, silky, and/or fluffy textures
~ Flowers, glitter, bling, girlie stuff, vintage images and ephemera, 1950s era anythings
~ Beads and beaded stuff
~ Items showcasing heritage like Russian nesting dolls, Spanish fans, Chinese calligraphy, etc.
~ I collect GNOMES, so anything with a gnome on it will make me grin from ear to ear.
~ I would really like to receive some "fibers" as I'm having a hard time finding them in craft stores locally or even online.
~ All things 80's! I am an 80's child through and through. I had an original Cabbage Patch doll, I watched Punky Brewster, and my first crush was a toss up between Ricky Schroeder and Michael Jackson :D
I'm not a big fan of earth tones, though I often admire work done with them.
Though I like Tim Holtz distressed inks, I dislike steampunk.
I'm just lukewarm on things like Hello Kitty and Disney stuff.
Peach scented anything makes me ill.
I'm really, really new to crafting. I took one afternoon scrapbook class about 11 years ago and did it for about 3 months before life got too busy. I recently took a weekend crafting class called "All Things Ranger" with Ranger products, so it's re-sparked my interest in crafting, particularly stamping.
Anyway, I make no promises. Sometimes I think my stuff is really ugly, but I figure as long as I'm having fun, it can't be that bad. Please don't feel you'll hurt my feelings if you are compelled to throw something away which I've made :)
I thought this would be a fun category to add as I would certainly NEVER be sad to receive something featuring one of my celeb crushes :)
I like...
Tommy Lee Jones
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson
Matthew McConaughey
Robert Pattinson (yes, I'm a Twilight fan, and I'm team Edward!).
