Description:

I've been wanting to host a swap like this for a while now.
For this swap you will be sending one ATC to each of your twenty partners. It's a lot of work but the cards are sender's choice so you can send ones you already have made or make your cards ahead of time. All media are welcome.

HOWEVER, here's the catch! At least one element of your cards must be uniquely made-by-you. If your card is a collage, it can't be possible to re-create your card completely with supplies bought off the rack.

There are a lot of ways you could do this--you could make your own background paper with inks or starch or paint, you could hand draw or paint part of your card, you could carve your own rubber stamp, you could start with a photo you took or your own digital art, you could add a handmade embellishment of some sort (wire? polymer clay? fabric?), you could even alter existing supplies. The possibilities are endless and if you come up with even more ways to do this, feel free to add them in the comments section!

The nitty gritty (Read carefully!) :
- 20 cards, one each to 20 partners, Sender's choice in both theme and medium.
- Standard ATC size is 2.5 by 3.5 inches. They should be at least card stock thickness.
- This is an international swap so assume you will need more than one stamp to send at least a couple of your cards. Don't join if you can't afford it.
- Every card must have one element that is unique and handmade by you. If this element is not obvious, mention what your unique element is in your note.
- Include both your swap-bot screen name and the full name of the swap somewhere in or on your envelope. This can be on the back of your card, if you like.
- Rating requirement of at least 4.9 and if your rating is less than a perfect five I want a legitimate explanation of all one and three ratings. If the explanation is not either on the rating comments or your profile, then PM me BEFORE signing up for the swap explaining how you got the poor ratings and what you did to try to rectify them. I reserve the right to remove anyone from the swap at my discretion.
- Sorry, but no newbies. You must have completed and been rated for at least 10 type three swaps to be allowed to join. This is a big commitment and I don't want anyone getting in over their head.

How about if we paint or draw the entire card ourselves?

KatarinaNavane 01/23/2012 #

That's fine too! One element unique is the minimum.

Looking forward to a huge swap! This one is going to be fun... Lot's of creativity and loads of freedom to do what you love. If you enjoy ATC's how could you not join this!?

Amuterasu 02/19/2012 #

One question, can we make a majority of the card through the computer? I'm not too good at drawing but making it in photoshop and then adding a few extra things after I print I'm a pro at.

KatarinaNavane 02/19/2012 #

@Amuterasu as long as the prints are good quality, sure!

Note: although bmyers08 has fewer completed swaps than I initially required she and I have come to an understanding to allow her to join, and if she should fail to complete the swap I will take full responsibility.

I promise I won't flake...unless I get hit by a bus....but then I think I have bigger problems :) I look forward to participating in this swap!!

saellys 02/19/2012 #

This is intimidatingly huge, and I don't think I can resist!

LauraAust 02/20/2012 #

Just four more people until we have our full 20 partners!

bmyers08 02/20/2012 #

Woo hoo...we reached our 20!!

luvdmb36 02/20/2012 #

I only have 6 type 3s, but I have 21 type 2s, I signed up, I'd really like to get a collection going of ATCs and this seems so awesome!! I hope I can participate! (I DON'T FLAKE!)

KatarinaNavane 02/20/2012 #

@luvdmb36 if you had PMed me before joining and done so a couple days ago, we might have been able to work something out. Sorry, but I can't make an exception for you this time around.

LauraAust 02/20/2012 #

20 people give us 19 partners - we need one more, and have a couple of hours to get them! :)

luvdmb36 02/20/2012 #

Ok. Thanks. I didn't think about PMing...I was just super excited and signed up. Plus, I thought since an exception was made for someone with 1/2 as many completed swaps as me, I would be given the same opportunity.

KatarinaNavane 02/21/2012 #

@luvdmb36 if you had contacted me sooner, I would have given you the same opportunity to prove yourself to me that I gave @bymers08 but at such short notice, I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do.

Marryth 02/21/2012 #

Whew - took a couple of hours to get all of the envies ready to go, but mine are on their merry way! This is such a great swap; looking forward to all of the happy mailboxes! :)

bmyers08 02/26/2012 #

I hope no one minds the lack of a personal note when their ATC arrives...there were just so many and I was already suffering from writer's cramp after addressing all of the envies. Hopefully my "with a catch" is easy to spot on all the cards...if you can't figure it out PM me and I'll be happy to tell you! Looking forward to seeing everyone's work!!
