This is the first in a multi-part series that I hope to keep going for a while. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and I know there are several others here on Swap-Bot that are as well. Please be sure to read over the swap details completely before signing up as this is more involved. Because of that the required ratings will be higher. You will have 1 month to send.

SWAP DETAILS

All items for these swaps should be able to fit into a journal of some sort, should you wish to compile everything into one as the series continues. So be sure that each item you send would fit on a composition book sized page...no larger.

For this swap, your partner has been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry. You are sending them their "acceptance" owl (letter) & package. Your package will include the following items:

  • An acceptance letter to the school...be creative, don't just type this out on plain computer paper and call it good.

  • A "penpal" letter from an upper-level student who can offer some advice to the new student. Letter doesn't have to be miles long but should be at least one full page. This is obviously a "fake" written letter, so use some creativity.

  • A tri-fold brochure -OR- a mini-zine detailing the classes that will be available to the first year, with a small description of each class & what it will involve. You can find lists of classes on the amazing website the Harry Potter Lexicon. Don't copy word for word!

  • An ATC -OR- journal page size A5 (half a sheet of standard computer paper) themed for the House which your partner wishes to be accepted into. NOTE: Please IM your partner to ask which house they want

Please make this your own. Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling's amazing imagination are our inspiration...not a source to be copied exactly!!

Eligibility

Must have a 4.95 or above. No recent unexplained 1s or 3s allowed. Must be in good standing with SwapBot. No no sends allowed period. Must have well filled out profiles. Must have completed at least 15 type 3 swaps.

I have an OC at a fanfiction that I'm writing. Her name is Lily Prince and she wishs to go to Slytherin. If the letter and everything goes to her I think she will be really glad! :D

Thank you so much for changing the requirements. My SB friend and I will have fun working on this (separate but together) and this will be my first series swap and I'm so happy it's this one. I'm going to watch the movies again with her so we can get into character. <3 THANK YOU!!!

I sent this info via email, so its just a repeat but for those that may not check their email I wanted to send here too:

It's time to start swapping! Don't forget to PM your partner to find out which house they want to be in. You can also ask them if they have a certain name they want to go by for the letters but that part is not required. If they do request it though please try to honor that! Have fun!!! I know I am :D

Just wanted to clear up some confusion. As the swap says: "Please make this your own. Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling's amazing imagination are our inspiration...not a source to be copied exactly!!" So in other words, don't copy characters or events EXACTLY from the book! Make up your own character name. If you can't come up with one that's fine, just use your RL or swapbot name. This is to be similar to and inspired by the books but not copied exactly! Some things of course will be exact...house names, class names, spells, etc. But as for characters and events, make it your own! I hope that helps!

Ok so I just realized that I set the send date on Saturday of Easter weekend...when the post offices are closed! I'm bumping the send date to Monday because of this. Sorry everyone!

:( I don't like international partners. It cost almost $17 to send a big envelope of basically papers! I think my post office is not telling me certain things, like I'm sure there should have been a cheaper way to send.

@PukeFacedFreak try going to the USPS website and click on the "calculate postage" link. Follow instructions from there to find the cheapest way to send things. $17 is very expensive! I've shipped a few things like that, but they usually weigh more...like a journal or book to Australia or something.

@PukeFacedFreak Wow, that's very expensive! I always find things at internet before goes to mail post, I tell the exactly the information they need before they put whatever they want. I always say "economic document". If I say letter, it 4 times expensive. It's stupid, but is the fact! And I have to have my eyes open or they put prioritary without noticed. It's the double of the price!
