Description:

After being snowed in over the weekend with my 3 year old grandson, I realized what I need (besides patience) is a Rainy Day Box! A Rainy Day Box is a box of goodies that will keep kids occupied when they can’t get outside to play. It can contain items like coloring book and crayons, small dolls or cars, small plastic animals, a small craft kit, beads for stringing, anything that will keep those kids busy and out of Mom’s hair. Also include a letter from your child about what they like to do on rainy days. The letter can be written and illustrated by your child or dictated to you and illustrated by your child.

You will have 1 partner. Value of the box should be $10. Try for at least 5 different items in the box. Items for the box should be new, but can include handmade items, i.e., a handmade dolly, an age appropriate craft kit, a hand decorated journal for older kids. Please keep in mind that you may have to send a box appropriate to more than one age/gender, so you may have to include items for boy & girl, or a 5 year old and a 10 year old, as examples. The TOTAL spent should still be $10.00.

Because this swap is for our kids, I’ll be checking ratings, swap history and swap comments before assigning partners.

Please post below with age, gender and general preference of your child.

I would like to receive for my Granddaughter, Taylor. She is 5 and loves stringing beads, coloring, and playing with dolls. She is just learning her alphabet and likes those workbooks where she can circle letters and numbers.

I have 2 kids. Kayla will be 12 by the time this swap takes place. She loves High School Musical, pink & black combo colors, crafts, nail polish and decals, loves the teen magazines (I forget the names of them, but any), skulls, cute pens. Garrett will be 10 by this swap and he loves Naruto,Yu-Gi-Oh, wrestling, Mustang's (the cars), tools, taking things apart and putting back together, crafts and I mean anything crafty. He'll find a crafty use for anything! I find tic tac boxes, toilet paper rolls, empty tape rolls, etc in his room all the time! Both of my kids love swimming, paper, Sharpie permanent markers, and we do alot of neat things together like look at the stars, plant and tend to the veggie garden and herbs and flowers, decorate the yard for every day and holidays, make T-shirts and homemade ice cream, feed the birds and have campfires and sleep outs in tents. They are very easy to please!

We have had record breaking amounts of rain this week in Cincinnati. Taylor is giving me lots of ideas for things to put into the box. She can't wait!
