Description:

I noticed this type of swap previously done and loved the idea of it. So-- With the new year coming up, everyone could always use a new accessory to brighten up and encourage a happy next 12 months! How about a cute bow?

For this swap, you will mail 1 partner at least 1 bow. If you choose to send more than one, please feel free to!

The bow(s) can be either purchased or handmade, however let's try to stay away from the packages typically found in general stores as well as bows made from ribbon material that tend to fray easily.

Bow items can be either hair ties, clips, necklace, or brooch. They can be decorated with lace, beads, sewn/painted design, kawaii items/faces-- etc. There is no theme, but I do recommend checking your partner's profile to see what they like! Just make sure the bow is something you would love to wear as well.

Please make sure that the minimum cost of the bow is $3 before shipping/handling. Quality must be new or shop quality if handmade (something that will be sturdy). Don't send anything you would be sad or unhappy to receive. For ideas or a place to shop for wonderful bows for your partner, check out Etsy and Storenvy!

Be sure to also include a small note to your partner with one New Years wish that you have in mind and plenty of well wishes to them as they embark into 2013!

Requirements: No recent or unexplained 1's. Please have a fully filled out profile. Your ratings can not be below 4.8. If you're new to swap-bot and would like to participate, feel free to message me before joining and have a filled out profile (I know what it's like to be new, so if you're dedicated, we can talk it over).

Please, do not flake. If anything comes up, contact your partner. I'll try to angel if something does come up, however I'm hoping no flakes will happen.

This is my first time hosting a swap, so please treat me kindly. If there are any concerns, feel free to message me.

I am a newbie, but I would like to participate. Am I suitable? I would like to put some pictures of my hair, so it would be easier to buy and accesorie, but how do I do that?

Worknesh: I just sent you a message and linked you on how you could put pictures up. I hope it helps!

Just a quick (and perhaps slightly stupid) question. Is bows made of other material than the "regular" ribbon allowed? I'm just asking because I make knitted/felted ribbons and often use them for bow-necklaces that I sell on local craft shows/fairs.

AspieGirl: Not a stupid question at all! Bows made of knit and felt are okay and wonderful! The only ones I'd like to see everyone try to stay away from are materials like ribbon sold on the spools that fray and the typical store bows that can be found at major retailers (like the plastic or ones found in sections for younger and pre-teens at a Walmart for example). As long as it's a material that can withstand lots of love and wear, it should be a-okay!

This might be a great opportunity to ask, speaking of the subject, if anyone knows any good bow-making tutorials? :)
