VanityGirl 03/31/2013 #

When do we get the names of people we have to send to?

SusieO 03/31/2013 #

Do we send the images/gifs to our partners via email? It says email in the category but others above are asking about posting these images into comment boxes.

ohhgraciebee 03/31/2013 #

@SusieO yeah, on their comment box. I know, I accidentally put email. sorry! :x

craftymissy 03/31/2013 #

I am not sure if each person is to get three different Easter pics or if each person only gets one, but it is different from the others.

lildorothy 03/31/2013 #

I thought I knew how to post pics and now here it is up against the deadline and i cant do it:(

pinkxpressions 03/31/2013 #

From what I understood, you're supposed to put 3 different comments on each person's profile. So that makes a total of 9.

Here are my instructions on how to put up the pictures: Find the picture you like and right click on the picture and click on the option that says "Copy image address" Go to the person's profile and type this in: but without spaces!!!

! [] (your image address goes here)

for example....

! [] (http://www.dazzlejunction.com/graphics-holiday/easter-glitter/easter-glitter-84.gif)

Just remove the spaces. Hope that helps!! :)

No it's one image each but it has to be différent for each people.

VanityGirl 04/ 1/2013 #

Ok I was able to put some comments but only one of my images should up :-(

I had trouble adding pictures in comments yesterday, and I followed the instructions exactly. I also PMed one of my swap partners telling her that I was having trouble, and she PMed me back that she had problems, too. I think the fact that we are having problems posting pics has to do with the fact that when we add a picture to swap-bot from another site, we are piggybacking on the other site's server. I read an explanation of this somewhere on swap-bot, but I don't remember where. I may not be using the correct computer terminology but that is the general idea. So if you are having problems adding Easter pictures, and you are one of my swap partners, just put a "Happy Easter" in my comment section and I will mark you a 5.

I found the Comments I was referring to in my previous post. It was in the Swap-bot Weblog [So You Want to Trick Out Your Profile] (http://blog.swap-bot.com/2009/05/26/so-you-wanna-trick-out-your-profile/) dated May 26, 2009. This is Comment #5:

“The graphics may be located on Photobucket, or Flickr, or on >someone’s personal website.”

This tutorial assumes that everyone you “borrow” a graphic from >won’t mind you piggybacking on their bandwidth. This practice is >known as “hotlinking” and is generally considered a clumsy faux >pas of internet etiquette:

http://altlab.com/hotlinking.html

(If you have no idea what I’m talking about, please read the link. >It explains what hotlinking is, why it’s a bad idea, how to avoid >doing it, etc.)

I realize that Swap-Bot is not the most tech-savvy place, so a lot >of members either don’t understand the issue or just plain don’t >care. This is a little discouraging, because I like Swap-Bot very >much, and I know that its members generally mean well. But >people should know this: the rest of the internet considers >hotlinking to be stealing.

If you’re okay with that, then fine. It’s like stealing your >neighbor’s cable– your chances of actually getting caught are >slim, and even if you are, it’ll probably be a slap on the wrist. But >if you’re NOT okay with this, then you might want to look into >this hotlinking thing and figure out how not to do it. It would be >nice to have a tutorial which addresses this issue.

From what I understand, there is also an issue of copyright infringement when you link a picture to one site from another site.
