BOM 1930 Half Square Triangles #3 June 12 thru July 12 This time we will have the option to do one side white and the other 1930’s prints, or the same as round #1 with one light and one darker 1930’s prints. Please post below which you would prefer. We will also only have one partner and be sending that partner 12 HST’S instead of just 6. The white can be tone on tone or plain white. Half Square Triangle = 4 1/2†block Option 1 = one side white and the other 1930’s prints or Option 2 = with one side dark 1930’s print, one side light 1930’s print 1 partner this time to receive 12 DIFFERENT blocks 4 ½†= total 12 1930’s HST blocks made and sent Start with two 5†fabric charms (charms = a square cut of 100% cotton fabric, in this case 5â€), either one light 1930’s print and one darker 1930’s print, or one white and one 1930’s print. Place the two charms right sides together. Using your ruler and a pencil, draw a straight line on the back of the light print from the upper left hand corner down to lower right hand corner. Stitch a scant ¼†seam either side of the pencil line. Cut on the pencil line. Press gently so as not to stretch the block. Trim the dog ears, and then trim the block to 4 1/2 inches using the center seam line as your base. Always trim and press for success. The goal is to get as many different 1930’s HST’s as possible so please try to use a print only once unless you match it to a different print the second time. We’ve found that the higher the contrast between the dark side and the light side, the better the HST’s work in any project. SUMMARY: 1 PARTNER to receive 12 DIFFERENT HSTS either Option 1 or Option 2. Any questions or concerns are welcome, please PM me. Look out, these blocks can be addictive! |
