Description:

Long title! Fun swap! Thanks to the lovely @knitmom7 for allowing me to redo this swap for our group :)

For this swap you are going to use pages from an old book, paperback, newspaper, or comic glued together. It'll take 5-7 pages to make it sturdy enough to mail naked.

You may embellish. You may sew them together after the glue dries. You can use fancy stitches if you so desire!

PLEASE make sure the glue is dry before you add more pages.

Find a page with some blank space for your addresses and stamp. Front and back and insides of the card must be from a book. No card stock!

Please mail the cards naked. Not you, the cards.

Just a couple things for clarification...the swap needs to be edited for USA only since we are not an international group...and ...are these able to be sent for post card stamp rate or are they heavier and need first class??? FUN idea..THANKS for hosting!!!

I've sent 3 now and they are for 33 cents. Edited for Regional... sorry I missed that the first time.

Thanks for the answers :) I wish I had saved some of my children's books that the daycare kids had torn some pages out of ...when I moved I threw so many books away that would have been perfect for this kind of swap!! UGH!!

What about magazine pages? Are they acceptable? I have made a few post cards of pages from magazines that I think are very nice.

Hi, this will be my very first handmade postcard. Does anyone know what kind of glue is best for the pages? And does naked mean not to write on it? Thanks!

@reallydanielle I've used Scotch brand glue stick to make post cards. You want to use a good glue to make it through the postal service. I've never had anyone say that the papers fell off. If you're layering paper, you could use mod podge too in between papers, and a good glue stick for the top layer.

Thank you!

Sending it "naked," just means that you will send it without an envelope. Even if it's bulky because you've added things to it, it still should be sent without an envelope.

Didn't get an answer to my question, so I will have to drop. I don't want a bad rating for not following directions and today is the last day.
