Who Am I?

I updated my profile on February 20, 2018.

I am Beth from Oregon, USA. I'm married. We don't have children, but we do have a small cat who brings us great joy & a little fur or is that great fur and a little joy?! ;)

I am a born-again Christian. Jesus Christ is my Savior.

Besides paper crafting, a few things I enjoy are:

  • Rock/mineral hunting on beaches and "in the middle of nowhere."
  • Getting together with friends for fellowship and card games
  • Keeping the lost art of letter writing alive by writing to my pen pals all over the world.

Random things that make me happy:

  • "Treasure hunting" at thrift stores, garage sales, and estate sales, and finding cool paper crafting or letter writing items.
  • Receiving colorful snail mail in decorated envelopes (white ones are so boring!)
  • Sending colorful snail mail to brighten people's days!
  • Song birds singing their sweet songs.
  • Meeting other Christians who enjoy my love of paper arts and/or writing letters.
  • Cats (meow!)

What I Enjoy

I LOVE playing with pretty papers and pretty washi tapes. I make cards and envelopes for swapping, writing to my pen pals, and to encourage and bless my Christian friends.

It's had to resist buying colorful 12x12 scrapbook papers when they're on sale. When I look at them I immediately envision all the colorful envelopes I can make from them.

I also love to take plain envelopes and decorate them with colorful washi tapes. There are seemingly endless color combinations and themes for this sticky material which as I always say, "There is absolutely no excuse for sending out swaps in plain envelopes when we have colorful washi tapes!"

I love to experiment with creative lettering for addresses on envelopes.

I've been a rubber-stamper for over 15 years.

FAVORITE THEMES: Flowers, song birds, cats, butterflies, dragonflies, tea/coffee, postal or pen pal related (mailboxes/letters/postage stamps/snails*/pens). I love these same themes in a whimsical flair. * whimsical snails only please.

FAVORITE COLORS: All the happy, colorful ones! LOL. For papers, I prefer bright colors (not neon) over khaki and beige tones. My "go-to" colors right now seem to be pink, green, and blue; however, it doesn't mean that I won't be happy with other colors too. For metallics, I'll take gold, copper, and bronze over silver.

Wish List

  • UNUSED USA POSTAGE: Vintage (the kind you have to lick or glue to seal) or current self stick kind.
  • ENVELOPES: A2 size, plain (colors ok)
  • DIE CUTS: I'm looking for die cut greetings (Happy Birthday, Hello, Thinking of You, Thank You, etc.)
  • WASHI TAPE: I've started an "All things Washi" journal that I'm putting snippets of washi tapes received (and purchased), along washi cards & envies, so I'd love to receive all sorts of washi tapes (except the themes on my dislikes list. :)
  • COLORFUL STICKERS (see my favorite themes above)
  • STAMPIN' UP CARD STOCK: Any color (at least A2 folded card size).
  • RUBBER-STAMPS/CLING STAMPS: Your hand-me-down used rubber-stamps or cling stamps (see my favorite themes above).
  • STAMPED biblical verses
  • YOUR HANDMADE CARD CREATIONS: I especially enjoy fun folds, pocket letters, or fancy folds card techniques. I like them for inspiration.
  • TEA: I prefer green tea varieties (jasmine, toasted rice, and other "earthy" ones); I enjoy tropical additives (figs, pineapple, etc.). (See tea dislikes below.)
  • STARBUCKS: A $5 gift card so I can enjoy a tall caramel macchiato with a petite vanilla bean scone. :)

Please Don't Send

We all have our own likes and what you like might not necessarily be what I like. Below is a list of things I do not care to receive.

  • Although I'm a Christian I prefer to not receive crosses, pictures of Christ, or most Christian imagery.
  • Postcards (tourist or other subjects).
  • Glittery items, as in the kind of glitter that shakes off a card and gets all over the place. It drives me crazy.
  • Themes: mustache, beards, circus, cutesy (Hello Kitty, Disney, cartoony), Asian, holiday-themed items (unless I've signed up for a specific swap), bugs/insects (dragonflies & butterflies are ok).
  • Scented things: perfume, incense, candles
  • Make-up
  • Tourist items (example: postcards, magnets & keychains)
  • Tea: I like tea (see above kinds under my wishlist), but NOT these kinds: licorice/anise, hibiscus, lemon, orange spice, or any black tea. I don't like tea that brews up red in color (usually from hibiscus being a top ingredient). No Stash brand tea.
  • Chipboard scrapbook embellishments.
  • Swaps sent in plain white envelopes with no decoration (there is no excuse for this when there are washi tapes, deco tapes, stickers, colorful pens, etc.)

Thank You!

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and learn a little bit about me and what I like. It's appreciated and really makes all the difference to me to know you took time to put thought into your packages. It takes them beyond just "checking the box," and moving on to the next swap. It's the difference that can totally make someone's day. I always read the profiles of my partners for this reason. I would rather send things they are happy with and can use, rather than things they will toss away - even if a swap says it's sender's choice. So, thanks again! ♥

Last, but not Least

I always send out my swaps. If for some reason you do not receive a swap from me, please send me a PM or an e-mail before rating me poorly and I will do the same for you.

I will rate upon receiving your swap or shortly thereafter. I would appreciate you doing the same for me.

Comment: + many more hearts ;+) Beth, your notepads are wonderful (I knew they would be). You are the master of embellishments--seriously. Thank you so much. One is already tucked in my purse just waiting for a note to be needed and the other is on my craft table! Thanks for swapping with me!
Response: Thank you for your kind comments about my notepads (and the lovely rating too). It took me awhile to get into embellishing them, but I, too was finally happy with how they came out. :)
Comment: Thank you, Beth, for pretty, pretty flowers! They did, indeed, brighten my day! I'm saving up all my samples for a month to see how many I have and then beginning to use them to decorate envies!
Response: You are welcome! Thank you for the lovely rating! :) It'll be fun to see how many samples you get for a month-long period. I've been collecting snippets (in my washi journal) since late December and I've got hundreds and it keeps growing. It's fun to look at them all...there are only a few duplicates - as we both know, washi seems to be endless! LOL!
Comment: Hi Beth- Thanks so much for the great samples - I love the citrus one! Your card is beautiful! Mine won't get in the mail until Monday, as I am out of town for the weekend.
