Description:

I'm totally stealing this swap from TerryF who is hosting it in another group of which I am not a member. But, this looks like fun and something right up our alley ...

Using this technique of piecing together junk mail and then cutting a shape, create a postcard to send to 1 partner.

I really like the minimilistic piece used as the example, but this is sender's choice so if minimilism isn't your thing, do what you want.

You do not have to use a feather though you can if you want. You can find a shape to cut with a scissors or use a die cutting machine to get a shape ...

EDIT/ADDED - you can put this in an envelope if it gets too chunky or bumpy. Or mail naked.

Flakers will be cut into pieces and recycled as junk mail.

Cool. I have something like this pinned to the C+P idea pinboard I've got going.

Where is your idea pinboard?(link)

I just did this swap in that other group, and it was super fun! I'll see if I have time for this one :).

Ah! Nice! Love the bear. Also intrigued by that mandala ...

Great swap idea! I'm just back from a 10-day vacation and my mail gets delivered tomorrow - this swap has got me even more excited to receive my mail :).

Regular sized postcards? 4x6' or 5x7"? I think the finished piece in the example is 8 x 10"

GinaVisione 08/23/2013 #

HAHA, Angie - Tell it to the Flakers!

stephiedee 08/24/2013 #

@dobie256 - our postcard swaps are generally sender's choice in regards to size. Anywhere from 3.5"x5" (the minimum) up to 6 1/8"x11.5" (the maximum size for a letter). You could probably take it up to the next level for flats pricing (12"x15" max) but holy wow that'd be a big one.

Yep, create a postcard whatever size you want. I once got a 12 x 12 inch postcard. Definitely took more than a postcard stamp. Hee hee.
