This is the swap for you!

You will have one partner for this swap.

Take one US Postal Service medium flat rate priority mailing box (it's free at post office) and fill it full of sewing goodies for your partner! The postage is $12.30, a bit pricy but think of all the goodies you will be getting! This is not a cheap or easy swap but it doesn't have to cost a fortune either. Be creative!

Please do not include more than 2 of the same item (except for pins, buttons or fabric!)All items should be new or like new.

Here's a list of items you might include:

fabric! Fabric can come from your stash but should be unused and clean. Only quality cottons please.

You can send precuts: 1 fat qtr or larger, 9 charm squares, 2 layer cakes or 4 jelly roll strips or sandwich size baggies filled with scraps (no smaller than 3X3 if square and no shorter than 2 inches wide and 6 inches if they are strips)

Use items from that you've gotten in swaps or as gifts.

Send items you bought and didn't need for a project

Check out your partners profile and purchase a few items that you have chosen just for them!

Do you have other things you'd like to receive/send? Please post your ideas or wish list as a comment.

All packages must be mailed within 3 weeks, so start collecting all those goodies now!

I will review all swappers before assigning partners and will remove any questionable swappers. No one wants to be flaked on after putting together a great box for their partner.

Questions? message me! This is the first swap I'm organizing so I can use all the help I can get!

Anything I can do to to convince all you watchers to join?

needlewings 01/ 5/2014 #

OK Pinkwater, you convinced me! I wouldn't have known about it except for the fact that I am sending you K-Cups in another swap. lol

As for me, I can always use fleece or minky fabrics as I make belly bands for my dogs. So strips of those could be no less than 7" X 21". I also can always use hook and loop tape (VELCRO) as long as it is the sew in kind. Not the sticky stuff. wide is better but either would work. I am also a quilter, so any 100 percent cotton. Especially medium to light colors in modern fabric, chevrons, polka dots, solids, also Love Grey as a background color, Can never have too many seam rippers, LOVE ZIPPERS>>> especially 7 inch or 18 inch. LOVE BUTTONS, pre wound paper bobbins, Schmetz needles, Any 100% wool sweaters from thrift stores. I like to shrink them and make slippers out of. Steam A Seam 2, zipper pulls, thread- especially Superior or cotton threads for quilting or can use Rayon thread for embroidery. For hand sewing, I can even use crochet thread or pearl cotton, ribbons-especially grosgrain, D-rings, magnetic snaps for purses, hand made pin cushions, flat flower head pins, blue mark be gone pens, pigma black markers, eyelets or grommets, patterns for female doggie diapers, tote and hand bags, batting (especially queen size) flat batting like Thermore or cotton. Magazines, especially Quilting Arts, can be older or Cloth Paper Scissors. Any books with innovative sewing textures and techniques, even stamping or other printing techniques, fabric painting, transfers, etc. I guess that should be enough ideas. lol

LOVE your icon up there...i soo wish my husband felt that way about pins on the floor. Thankfully for my family, i'm usually the one that steps on them!

PolkaDotty 01/ 9/2014 #

I do mostly Teesha Moore patches, making dote dolls and other dolls and enjoy working with fabrics.I am always looking for unique designed, characters, animals, weird printed cottons, minky and velvet fabric at least 3 inches squares in any bright colors and earth color. I also will take old 100 percent wool sweater pieces at least 5 inches squares that are un- shrunk and flat batting pieces at least five inches squares. I would love to have few seam rippers as I keep losing them for some reason. I would like to have fabric and sewing embellishments such as tiny bows, flowers, sequins, braids, trims, craft  buttons, plastic or resins items with hole to sew on, laces etc, embroidery threads in any color and metallic threads.

Love this swap! So I make quilted ornaments and baby seat covers and more. I like pastel fabrics, pinks, purples, I only ask that if you send something it goes together and matches, floral fabric, or even baby boy fabric. Threads, seam rippers that I can never seem to find. Pin needles ❤️ Can never have enough. A pin cushion hand made or bought. I like charms for my ornaments. Ribbon grosgrain only though. I want to learn to quilt. Anything that would help me to do that. Quilting magazines. I like Latino heritage, serape, and skulls. You can search me on IG and direct message me there or here. Can't wait :) MsNabor928 :IG

Hey all you watchers, you have until tomorrow to sign up!

I'm sweetening the pot! I will be sending each swapper an envelope of goodies as a thank you for being a part of my very first swap. Be sure to post your favorite color/colors when you sign up!

PolkaDotty 01/12/2014 #

Here's a commercial for another swap you might like: Anything Scarf Swap

the host is really a sweetie so I sent her a message and asked if I could make a patchwork scarf since I don't knit or crochet, and she said yes! So I hope you'll sign up and make a scarf to swap. I spent a few hours picking out, cutting and laying out my fabric...6+ feet of prints, solids and batiks designed to go with a pair of jeans (or anything denim). I hope you will sign up!

Polka Dotty, I will check out the Anything Scarf Swap. I have seen people make scarves by putting threads down on solvy and sewing all over it to keep it together and then desolve the solvy. Results are a nice wispy decorative scarf. I have seen chenille scarves too made in rayon fabrics. They are awesome! You certainly don't have to know how to crochet or knit to make scarves!

Oh, you asked favorite color..... It's Blue as in Peacock Blue, Aqua blue, turquoise, Caribbean blue, Electric Blue.....Anything BLUE!!!! It makes me feel...... well, not so blue!!! ( That came out of the blue of course. LOL)

MsNabor928 01/12/2014 #

Pastels and boy colors :)

JudalineZ 01/12/2014 #

Add few things my favorite color are purple, neon colors, lime green, and pink. I also would love to have any old cloth tape measures that is sew-able on the fabric even it is not whole set or in all one piece for the altered art work. Basically anything that can be sewn on I will be happy!

Arrythmias 01/13/2014 #

I know it says quality cottons only, but could we send fabrics that aren't cotton? I like red and purple (both to the darker side), light grey and blackity black blacken
