It's that beautiful time of year when the nights grow longer and colder and we begin pulling out our decorations and Christmas tree. I always love every year when I get to place the ornaments on my tree and be reminded of memories associated with the ornaments. So, what better way than an ornament exchange to make new memories with our close-knit group of friends here at Quills and Parchment! For this swap you will send 2 ornaments to your partner with a Yule theme. No Santa, Christian themes, or non-Yule Christmas ornaments. A good rule of thumb for a Yule ornament is something from nature: woodland creatures (foxes, owls, squirrels, deer, etc), Faery folk and gnomes, mushrooms, holly berries, birds, and other organic themes. This is an international swap so I wouldn't recommend doing anything glass (since we all know how the postal people drop kick our packages!) and wouldn't reccomend anything heavy. Keep postage in mind. There are lots of fabric and wooden ornaments at Target and World market (in example) that follow this theme. You must spend 5$ USD and you can do homemade ornaments if they are well-made and thoughtful (and meet the dollar amount.) Please also include a note or Christmas card wishing your swap partner a happy Yule and wrap the ornaments. Make this a pretty, happy mail package that you would enjoy opening. This is open to Newbies with a filled out profile, because it's Yule after all! But if you have excessive recent 1s you will be banned from the swap. |
