Description:

This is a monthly swap. You do not need to have participated in the previous swaps to jump in on this one. I hope you'll join us in getting to better know your group mates one sentence at a time.

YOU WILL NEED:

A pocket sized journal (mini-comp, small notepad, handmade, etc.) with a minimum of 31 pages (equal to the number of days in the month - one sentence per page)

Decorating supplies (Anything you feel is appropriate to personalize the journal), including the month, year and your SB name on either the front cover or spine

Legible handwriting and colors that are not difficult to read (please don't use neon green pens or, god forbid, yellow!)

Each day you will write one sentence describing your day. This could be something important/funny/scary that happened, a highlight of the day, etc. I realize it's only one sentence, but please try to be descriptive. "Best day I've had this week!" is a huge cliffhanger! Please explain why.

Please be sure to label your journal by month and year on the spine or front cover. Please also include your SB handle. Decorate the front cover as you wish, but know that the focus of the swap is 'day in the life of...', not an artistic masterpiece. Sticker slap is even allowed. If you personally made your journal and it has a non-decorative front, I still consider that personalizing (albeit, very bland) and if you bought a journal that came with a nice, decorative pattern (does not include composition pattern shown in the photo above), I would consider that personalizing. But please, honestly guys, try and decorate.

REQUIREMENTS: Must have participated in a Type-3 swap in the last three months. Must NOT have an unexplained 1 rating in the last 3 months.

It's very hard to get out of the habit of writing '14 when the year changes -- But maybe you want to change the name of this swap.

It usually takes me most of two months to consistently write the right year.

Thank you for the correction.

can we write more than one sentence?

The reason it is a One Sentence A Day journal is to challenge you to pick one highlight of the day or try and contain your entire day in a sentence. I personally feel that writing more than one sentence is not following swap requirements and could result in a 3 (although I don't think I've done so yet despite a few days in some journals being over a sentence).

If there is a particular day or event that you would like to go into more detail on, might I suggest a companion letter to go along with your journal?

The month is over, time to start sending those journals.
