Description:

Pretty easy swap. Write a letter to your partner, as a bad swapper, apologizing for an imaginary late swap, but make the excuse a whopper. Make it as lame as you want. :) It doesn't have to be a long letter (although it can be) to meet the swap requirements. A paragraph or two is fine.

Mail the letter along with a little flat something (bookmark, note card, postcard, etc) as a way of making amends. But keep in mind you are a bad swapper, so make it something you wouldn't be thrilled to receive (but keep it clean and "clean" if you know what I mean).

Remember, you are writing as a loser swapper who is trying (unsuccessfully) to convince your partner to give you a decent rating. (All resemblances to persons living or dead is purely coincidental.)

This is not profile-based, so you don't have to wait for a partner to be assigned to start. Just:

1) Make up an imaginary swap; 2) Write a letter explaining why you didn't complete it or completed it late; 3) Throw in a flat surprise; 4) Mail.

If you get a letter that meets those four requirements, please rate a 5. Remember, this is not a swap where you are actually looking forward to what you are getting, so please don't rate down if your flat surprise is tacky. That is part of the theme.

Sending your actual swap late is NOT part of the theme! Let's not get carried away! ;)

Now for the legalese: Unrated new swappers okay. Please PM me if you want to join but have any current (last 6 months) unexplained ratings less than 5 on your profile. I reserve the right to ban any swapper for any reason, regardless of your rating, and I hope you don't take it personally if I do. It is not a matter of trust. It is a matter of logistics and statistics.

If, however, you have flaked on me in my capacity as a host or a Swap-bot participant, please don't sign up for this swap, as I will remove you, it WILL be personal, and I will likely derive more than a small modicum of pleasure in doing so.

I have a 1 from a swapper who was impatient and wouldn't wait for a swap during the holidays. She then blocked me and never rated me for EITHER the original or second send (yea right two went missing). She wouldn't answer an email I sent. And as I said I'm blocked. So impossible to rectify. Maaaaany people contacted me to say she's horrible to deal with and screwed over lots of people. Can I join ? It's still a 1 but unresolvable. ?

Thank you. :) I suspect many will be drawing from personal experience of having been flaked on.

Thanks @madhen for this fantastic idea!

While writing my letter this evening I thought of an interesting, slightly related idea for a swap that I created here: http://swap-bot.com/swap/show/194834

Glad it inspired you, erinbit. :)
