Description:

~G'day swappers!~

I believe we are all in need of something new and different. This is a swap for those talented writers out there - and those who love to write. In this swap - you swappers will write a short story, but there's a twist... you won't finish it.

The sendER will write half of the story, about 3-8 pages, depending on how ever long they want to write it. Keep in mind, you can write about ANYTHING! Romance, Fables, Fantasies, Moderns, Olden-Times, Horror, Sex... ((Do NOT write only about sex, and do NOT use vulgar description at any time through-out the story; this is not a chance to write a porn-novel!!!)) This is your chance to explore the outter-limits of your mind and have some fun. You can even write a comedy about two talking cats that steal food from the local dogs for all I care! It's YOUR book!

Now... for the twist, the Reciver of this 3-8 paged, UNFINISHED novelty will finish it; and send the finished product back to the origanal author to be read. You ARE ALLOWED to keep a copy, afterall - half of it is your work. You will write an ending of atleast 3-6 pages so that the stories will not be too long. Remember, though you wrote the ending, don't insult the begining's author by changing the story around alot; you also get to write your own story to YOUR receiever - don't forget.

No one under a rating of 3.8 may join, I'm leiniant, but will not allow flakers, or fakers into a serious swap such as this. COPYWRITE of this material will be on close watch, do NOT attempt to COPY, or USE any other swapper's work. Stealing someone's work can be punished by law - keep this in mind. So swappers, get to it! Have a fun time doing it too! For those swappers who enjoy their story so much they would like to share it, you may send it to this email: [email protected]

I am NOT taking your work for myself for all the sceptics - I will be posting them to a blog to be shared with other writers and readers. This blog's contents will be copywrited with mentions and credits to ALL authors. So don't be afraid to share your stories, I'd love to read them, and so would the world. The place they will be posted will be at this address: http://swappedstories.blogspot.com/

So please don't be afraid to share them! Anyway, if you have any questions, feel free to message me, or email me. I can't wait! Good luck writers!!!

This is really original and fun. Just a question: is this e-mail or snail mail swap?

LillyPad 08/ 4/2008 #

Email or Snail-Mail is all up to you... Personally I think it would be WAY simpler an easier for swappers to use email, but there are those who like to recieve mail in the box, so it's all up to you and your partner. I hope you have fun! :)

I am so excited for this. I love writing but have never tackled a short story before. I've started writing mine and can't wait to see how my partner finishes.

Cheers on an excellent swap!

Thanks! :D

Oh, this REALLY sounds like fun! I was in an altered book round robin once where we started (and illustrated) a story; it went to six or seven different people who continued the story and then back to the original author, who had to finish it. That was just about the most fun ever, and I can't wait to try this one as well.

I have a quick question - the send-by date of Sep 20, that's for us to send our first story half to the receiver, correct? Is there any date by which the receiver must send back the completed story? IOW, how will we know if we've been flaked? :)

LillyPad 09/26/2008 #

correct, Sept 20 is the sent date of the UNFINISHED story, just keep getting back to your reciever if they still havn't FINISHED your story since there is no way in rating the person you sent to. Don't hold off ratings please - and don't flake or I'll be forced to start banning users from my swaps all together.

You can't get flaked if you constantly annoy is my moto!.......... not really, but its worth a shot. :P
