Description:

A number of newbies have expressed interest in Artist Trading Cards, so this is one in a series of monthly artist trading card swaps. These swaps will help you learn to construct an ATC with minimal requirements for artistic ability. One card to one partner.

The only two rules about ATCs are:

  1. They must be 2.5 x 3.5 inches in size. (64mm x 89 mm)
  2. They must never be sold, only traded.

Okay, are you ready for the swap requirements?

Don't be scared. :)

  • Cut your card stock to the correct size (see above). If you want to make the card extra sturdy, glue a second piece of card stock to the back. For this swap, your edges should be cut neatly and evenly.
  • Create a design on your card. You can draw, or use a stamp, or collage, or whatever medium you prefer. Do not "sticker slap" (which means just adhering a sticker or a die-cut to the background). Sticker-slapping is no-effort art, and you risk receiving a 3 rating.
  • Theme, design, colors, and medium are sender's choice, but please be mindful of your partner's dislikes.
  • Add some - or a LOT! - of glitter to your card. Make sure it is adhered well. No one wants glitter all over their floor when they open their mail. :)
  • Turn your card over and write the name of the swap, your name, and the date on the back.
  • Enclose your card in a clear sleeve or a small paper envelope or some means of protecting the card while it is in transit.
  • Send it off to your partner *on time.* This is part of the swap requirements. If you send late, your partner can rate you a 3.

Rate promptly and accurately.
Communicate with me and your partner if there are problems.

Swap photo from ArtGlitterBlog. This card is a good example of a simple stamp that was embellished with glitter and a bit of ink to color the background.
