My life recently changed a lot, and I now work 3 jobs (one full-time, two part-time), so I have very little time for crafting and swapping. Apologies to founders of the groups I’m in, that I can’t join as many swaps as I’d like. This, combined with the many recent tech troubles on swap-bot, makes me think it's a good time for a short swapping hiatus.

I've got: three jobs I love; a long, healthy marriage; a big, happy family; lots of pets (4 cats, 2 black labs, 1 white lab/heeler mix); freedom; many daily laughs; an abundance of crafting resources.
My word and focus for 2018 is "JOY."

I like

  • ocean colors
  • coffee
  • lilacs and tulips
  • interesting typography
  • Craftsman style architecture; Mission style furniture
  • stories about time travel
  • outdoorsy things and nature and anything around water (beaches, rivers, and lakes). I hike and kayak, and one of my bucket list items is to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail.

.... and a lot more things, but I'm choosing not to list them all here. I'm pretty much open to anything (with the exception of the things I mention below), and I like to see your personal aesthetic.

I don't have a definite artistic style, but I enjoy dabbling in a lot of things, with all kinds of media. I'm a big fan of Tim Holtz and like using his products to get less vintage-y results (although I do appreciate the vintage style). I love swaps where I learn new ways to use his inks and paints.

I'm a newbie to the world of the Silhouette Cameo 3 and am very open to tips and advice! I have a Cricut Easy Press so I can make t-shirts, but I've been somewhat intimidated by the Cameo, and then there's the whole working 6 days a week gig I've got going on, so not much time to learn and practice. Ugh.

Despite my crazy schedule, in 2018, I want to learn to:
1. use the Cameo
2. use my gelli plate
3. hand-carve stamps

I don't collect postcards, so when I join a PC swap, it's usually for what you write on the back. (Excluding hand-crafted or -colored PCs.) I don't have any preferences for what's on the front, as long as it's not on my dislike list (below). You can send your junky cards that no one wants to me. :)

I learned to sew years ago, and have made everything from quilts to cloth diapers to purses to apparel to home decor. I may or may not have a problem with collecting sewing machines and sergers.... I'm a Bernina groupie.

TV: I don't have time to watch much TV, but when I find something I like on Netflix, I tend to binge watch 2-3 episodes at a time until I'm through the whole series. I'm always open to suggestions.
I'm currently watching: This Is Us (season 2)

Please don't send

I would appreciate not receiving anything with the following themes or motifs:

  • Anything satanic or having to do with the occult
  • Wicca, paganism, or anything that worships or idealizes "Mother Earth" or "Goddess."
  • Eastern mysticism; Buddhism; Islam; Shintoism; pantheism.
  • Politicized rainbows
  • Rodents (mice, rats)
  • Passive aggressive communication or gas lighting. I will refuse to respond, because normal adult discourse is not possible with sociopaths and narcissists.

Comment: Thank you for this fabulous card! I'm glad you had fun with it and got some craft therapy in :-) There's nothing like it on this unexpected journey of life, that's for sure! Hope to see you around in another swap again some time.
luckycharms rated for THC: 10 step ATC Challenge #1 on Mar 10, 2018
Comment: Thank you very much, you did a wonderful job on the ATC!!! I guess the 4th time is the charm:) I think I remade mine about 3 or 4 times too. I love how we all had to use the same and got so different results!
lmacdavis93 rated for VTHS: Glue & Distress Inks Tag on Mar 2, 2018
Comment: Hi Diane! Your glue and distress ink tag turned out great! I love butterflies so this was just my thing. I had not ever tried this technique either and made a couple of stabs at it before I got one I was happy with. I don't have the kind of glue recommended either so just used my white Scotch craft glue, and it seemed to work okay. It was pretty quick and easy (discounting the drying time) so I will most likely try it again! Thanks for a fun swap - Laurie

Comment: Hi and I love "sing" which I read at first as SPRING since I want spring to come so badly...... love what you did with the background and flowers using the used coffee filter..... so funny because I made flowers and a flower pot out of mine also. Thanks.....
Response: I hear you on wishing for spring! This unending rain is about to drive me nuts!
Comment: It took the Pony Express to get here, me thinks, but it was such a pretty flower design! I loved reading your letter too! I have 2 bad cats. They have Gangsta names- Fats and Smalls... lol
Response: Those are great cat names. I have a cat named Missy who probably ought to be named Fats, she's such a pudge.

It was really sweet of you to send along those cute chocolate scented stickers, and the recipe cards, I loved them and both items are going to look great on my recipe smash book. Hope you had a fun Christmas!!
Response: I wish it had gotten to you before Christmas! But I'm glad it finally arrived, and that you like it. :)

I was so sick in January and thought OKAY - that's over and then literally boom. I get down a bit here and there but I keep getting up. Good to see you too friend. xoxo♥♥

Thank you so much, TC. It was sweet of you to post on my profile and welcome me back. It's still pretty surreal when I think about it, but thankfully there is some light at the end of the tunnel. I am safe again! Again, thank you so very much.

Profile check for Group: Artisan ATCs. Welcome to the group! I read your profile.. I envy that you can sew. I can do most crafts, but find it difficult to sew a straight line, and to knit or crochet :-( You are lucky you are so talented! I hope you will enjoy being part of the Artisan ATC group and I look forward to swapping with you. :-)

Ah Peaky Blinders! It's on my list...my very long list...of shows to watch, but I haven't yet. I don't have a lot of time for TV (I just finally got around to watching Stranger Things and am hooked...), but it's queued and waiting for me!

Just thought I'd pop over and say hi :) Hope everything is settling back down for you (saw the note on your profile).
