About Me

Update 5/22/2020: I am missing a map postcard for Rhode Island so if anyone wants to send one in a swap, I would be eternally grateful!!!

I'm a ska kid that refuses to grow up.

I love going to shows (in and out of state). Nothing makes me happier than being able to somehow incorporate a road trip and a ska show. My next road trip is not until June when I drive to Virginia for the Supernova Ska Festival.

I play a lot of video games. I'm a huge Nintendo fan with my favorite video game franchise being Fire Emblem. I also love Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon.

I also have a PS4, a Steam account, and am an avid Pokemon Go player.

Currently binge watching: One Piece and Hunter x Hunter

Favorite Books

The Warriors Series by Erin Hunter is my all time favorite book series. If you have not read it, you need to put it on your "must read" list!!!

I am also a big Harry Potter fan

Favorite authors include Jodi Picoult and Meg Cabot

I also really enjoy historical fiction, stories about anthropomorphic animals, true crime, anything on WW2/the Holocaust, and memoirs/autobiographical stories.

Favorite Movies

Kevin Smith is my favorite director and Clerks is my favorite View Askew movie.

I really enjoy Star Wars, Harry Potter, and the Hunger Games.

I am a huge fan of the MCU.

Favorite Crafts

Scrapbooking and bead weaving are the two biggies. I make my own greeting cards/Christmas cards.

I also dabble in other crafts...making wreaths, photo frames, etc.

Next on the list is learning how to crochet as well as learning how to make Terrariums (I saw some Pokemon ones at comic con last year and simply fell in love with them)

-Rubber duckies
-Lego minifigs
-POP! Funko
-Enamel Pins

Postcard Preferences

I sign up for a lot of postcard swaps so thought it might be a good idea to list some of my preferences:

-Map cards
-Recipe cards
-Anything weather related (specifically lightning and tornadoes)
-Stadium cards
-Handmade cards
-Water related (waterfalls, bridges over rivers, etc.)
-Revere Beach/Revere, MA vintage cards (this is a very specific item in my collection as I grew up in Revere and collect all old Revere postcards. I have 70+ right now that I have found at various antique malls, etc.)

I do not expect extra goodies in the swaps I receive but I know that some like to include them so I thought I would list some likes/preferences:

-Postcards are always welcome! See my postcard preferences above but really, I'm happy with any postcards that you want to send.

-Washi tape. I am obsessed with washi. I use it a lot when I make cards.

-Anything Kawaii/anime related will be very well received. This includes stickers, stationary, etc. Just anything. Some current obsessions are Gudetama, Aggretsuko, Bananya, My Hero Academia, Hunter x Hunter, One Punch Man, One Piece...

-Enamel Pins are a new favorite of mine. If you can match a pin to my interest, I would for sure love it :)

-Address Labels! Someone sent me some recently and I never realized how nice it is to have this little convenience so I will never be sad about receiving address labels...

-These are items that are a little bigger but just in case I join a swap that requires a gift, etc. - I am always very happy with lego minifigures, amiibos, Funko POP figures, and cozy/fuzzy or cute socks. If you do plan to send a minifig, amiibo, or POP, please message me to make sure I don't already have it :)

I've been signing up for sock swaps when I see them so I thought I'd put some likes specific to socks: My size is 4-10 or 9-11 and I love anything except for toe socks. I am particularly fond of cozy/fuzzy socks but really, I love anything as long as it is cute. Ankle, knee high, crew...I love it all!

I'll add more to this list as I think of more. :)

-Religious items

-Tea samples

I will add more as I think of it :)

Comment: I looked up Ska music on youtube because of your profile, and watched some videos from the 50/60s and I loved it. Its funny how you can know a music a little from the sound, but not know what its called!
Comment: I LOVE my socks! Thanks so much ❤️❤️❤️

Comment: Thank you for sharing. Russians always cook big family dinner for New Year eve. Chinese delivery sounds do refreshing. I saw this tradition in movies - may be I'll try it next year. Oh, and Cat Wars calendar sounds so cool.
Comment: I've never seen a band live. In 2019 I was actually planning to see my first live concert and then Covid. :( All shows canceled until at least the end of this year. But at least we're all healthy, that's what matters most now. ^_^ I hope you have fun planning on how to live together, it's a very exciting time. Make sure to discuss your furniture plans before going to IKEA, I always saw lots of people arguing there, lol. XD Thanks for sharing.

Comment: Tha is for the PC, your handwriting was really hard to read, so I got some of it. And they stamped over the writing woo post office haha
Comment: Always a pleasure to be swapping with you again! I agree, it was great to stay home and not run around on Christmas. Our family has a total of 8 Christmas' once you consider extended families, in-laws, a "friends" celebration, etc. It was really nice to stay home, relax, and just celebrate with my wife and son. I hope you had a wonderful holiday! Best, Rick

Comment: Thank you for the beautiful card
Comment: Thank you for the cute llama card and the tuck-ins. Christmas did come very quickly this year. I usually make at least one gift for each person at Christmas, but didn't even attempt this year. Didn't want the extra stress. Guess I'll start in July next year, then maybe I'll get things done by Christmas. Here's to a stressless 2021!
Comment: Thank you for the bookmarks!
