Love Pocket Letters? Love Tea? This is the swap for you!

You will create 1 Pocket Letter for 1 Partner. (For those who still don't know what a Pocket letter is, you can Google it or message me or comment below for more information.)

For this particular Pocket Letter the theme is Tea. The front of the pockets may be decorated in any way you choose, but Must be decorated and the back must include the following:

  • 3 tea bags (one in each pocket) - No Loose Tea, Different kinds of tea are nice but not a requirement, neither is checking your partner's profile for dislikes, though that is nice to do. 8-)

  • a card with a Quote -

  • a LETTER - not a note. This is the heart of pocket letters and should long enough to tell your partner a little about yourself, and about why you chose the tea you did.

-That is 5 pockets total. The final 4 pockets may include anything you like but should be filled. Ideas include Washi Tape samples, Stickers, ATC blanks, Tags, die cuts, etc..

The order you fill the pockets is up to you as long as they all have something in them. If you keep the items flat, this will fold up nicely into a business envelope and not be expensive to mail.

You must rate a 5 if you receive the following- 3 tea bags (even if you don't like the flavors), A Quote, a Letter and all the pockets had at least something in it.

I will allow Newbies with a well filled out profile, but rated swappers must have no recent 1s or 3s and I will check to see when you were last online before assigning partners. I have the right to ban questionable swappers.

This is an INTERNATIONAL swap because its fun to collect different teas, postage is reasonable if you keep your pocket letter flat and feel free to host a USA version of this swap if you prefer.

Let me know if you have questions. Have fun swapping tea!

Many countries do not allow plant material to enter. Maybe this should be regional? You wouldn't want customs to seize any packages.

I agree, love the theme and tea, but some countries you just can't send tea to and it would be a shame to put all the effort into a nice pocket letter only to have it destroyed by customs.

@thebragirl and @ArtyBeth3 --- shoosh! Far too many swaps are only for America.

Having said that, perhaps it could be altered a little, for 'drink sachet' instead of stipulating tea?

A lot of people think tea can't come into Australia, for example, however, if it is a sealed teabag bought from a shop, it is fine.

P.S. The shoosh isn't meant nastily, hope you realise that. Happy swapping. ♥

Australian here- tea gets in just fine! I even order loose leaf from Adagio that comes in tins, not sealed plastic/foil. 100% A-OK!

What about the U.S.? Can I for example send tea from Germany? I once send a letter decorated with pressed flowers that came back to me totally destroyed :( . But that's years ago and you could see the flowers from the outside of the envelope. I think it's no problem to send tea to Germany, at least not if its only a couple of bags.

I think postal service in every country has a list on their website what you can't send to other countries, so maybe better consult that before signing in?

As long as things are properly marked on the customs form, and you do your proper research everything will be just fine. I did a PL swap with someone in Australia and it did just fine. :)

Hey! Shall we swap?! :)))

Thanks for hosting. Just filled out my custom form and sent mine off. Rest of the month looks crazy, so I didn't want to miss any deadlines. Oh, pd $10 to mail mine with customs slip. ;-)

Thanks for all your comments. I agree with Dabellaraquella. So far my experience has been good with mailing tea internationally and receiving it as well. There are many tea swaps here on Swap Bot so it must be generally okay.
