Hallows High Holy Day Prayer Flag for the Dead

Hallows is the High Holy Day of all our festivals. It is the time of the Witch; the time when the veil between the worlds is thinnest and we are able to communicate with our ancestors.

You will have one partner, make and send one prayer flag, traditionally cut from fabric 12" long by 6" wide. (Prayer flags have been used in a number of other swaps on S-B and this one is based on a specific theme for our group.)

The top is folded down 3" and attached, forming a sleeve to hang it out in the wind. You can paint on it, sew, and add anything that is environment-friendly. Seams are unhemmed so that it may fray naturally. If you do not sew, you can glue knowing that this will make it disintegrate quicker.

You could select one of the intentions below to BE put into the flag as you make it for your partner or chose your own:

2. Forgiveness

3. Reincarnation / Rebirth

When you receive your prayer flag, you could add a name or many names to the back of it, and then hang it outside for the winds to carry the intentions to the ethers.

Many of us struggle with the cost of shipping outside the country, so if anyone wants to do this Internationally, please either let me know or feel free to do one yourself.
