Description:

This is for handmade bookmarks. You don't have to be an artistic genius to make a bookmark, just creative! For this particular swap, you will create 1 bookmark using a page from a book. Be creative and if you can incorporate something from their profile, great!

Please when rating give a 5 if the bookmark MEETS requirements. We are not all great artists. Give a heart if you get a little extra something from your partner or if the bookmark is AMAZING! Newbies ARE allowed.

As always, "Swap-lifters" need not apply...if anyone flakes they are banned from swapping here again. These are bookmarks, there is no excuse for not following through. I'll be checking! I have good hostess points because I follow through and touch base to make sure people are being taken care of!

Can you use graphic image pages or just typed pages to create a bookmark?

This is awesome but I can't imagine ripping a page out of a book that I loved enough to make a bookmark. Could we copy the page and make it that way?

yarnigras 03/16/2016 #

yes to both! I just think typed words are so neat looking and loved the idea of a book page turned into a bookmark. Work it as you wish :-)

How much of the original page must be visible at the end? Can the page be altered, e.g. coloured, stamped, painted over?

I also can't stand the thought of destroying a book. I went to the thrift store and they had a few books with broken bindings and missing pages that were headed for recycling. I gave them a dollar for a few broken books that I can use for art projects.

Great idea @pkpeace I was going to suggest the same thing. It is difficult to rip up one of my own books so I find a few at thrift stores or library sales that I have no emotional attachment to, then book crafts are so much fun.

apologies for clicking "start swap" a little late. I had something unexpected come up and was delayed.
