Description:

If you sew, you have a stash of bits and bobbles laying around your house. You have notions coming out of your ears. You may be a novice sewist or you may be a fine tuned machine either way this swap is for you.

Pull out the fabric scrap bin, get out the notions and join us.

In this swap you will send 1 partner an envelope full of goodies to add to their sewing stash

What to send........................................................... 1 item of your choice that has been sewn (handmade) (this item must be clean, in new condition and usable)

1 pattern with instructions to create a sewn project. (this can be a printed tutorial that you found online, one that you created, it could even be a pattern that you purchased from a local shop near you, either way it has to have full details on how to make an item)

10 fabric scraps each piece should be larger than 4" x 4", please send a nice assortment.

10 interesting buttons (please add in some that aren't plain circle buttons)

5 sewing notions like trim, buckles, clasps, bag handles, etc.

This is my first swap and I would like for it to go well, I will take note of anyone that flakes. I am keeping the swap open to new people with at least 1 swap and a rating of 5.000. Please be sure when signing up that you do your part, no one wants to be left hanging.

Hi hi.. Loving this idea.. But can u define clearly about the sewing notion part... Would that be ok to just and 5 different kind of trims?? Or must it be a mixture??

Cos the description is not clear.. Also clasps and bad handles are also adding weight which may cost for some people..

Just giving my 2¢ worth. Watching this for now

Last package I sent internationally cost nearly $20.00 and it wasn't that heavy or bulky. Sent a yard of fabric. Flattened to fit into a an 8 X 10 manilla envelope. Postage has gotten so ridiculous for over seas.

I would LOVE for this to be a USA flat box mail swap! This is a terrific idea as I have items I need to pass along, AND a need to sew a few small projects! Mailing heavy items overseas would be to much for me and limit this great swap to only smaller items.

I agree. I love this idea, but I can't afford international shipping. Flat box rate would be a great way to go.

Thanks so much for the interest and suggestions, I will go ahead and change to US only.

Also notions can be anything aside from buttons. So yes if you send 5 different trims that will work as 5 notions.

Please feel free to decide your own shipping methods, flat rate box works fine if you so desire. If your items are light weight first class post will do. I have something specific in mind to make and send so i'll probably be going with a flat rate envelope. Anyhoo I hope you all do decide to join I would like to see a few rounds of this swap if people are interested.

For the handmade item, it's totally up to you, large or small, just make it great and I'm sure your swap partner will be happy.

I won't be able to join this round, so I hope you run this swap again one day, I LOVE the idea!!
