Description:

I participated in a swap of the same name last year.... it was actually quite fun and the stories got very interesting.....

This swap is a pass along story. There will be 5 rounds, here is how we will play.....:

  • Using the first line "It was a dark and stormy night..." write a paragraph or two (or three) to begin your story. It can be any genre, as long as it's family friendly (no squirting blood and gore) and ANYTHING can happen within YOUR paragraph(s). This will be YOUR story! Add your swap-bot name at the end, so we know who to track each story with (IMPORTANT).

  • Send it to your swapbot partner, VIA EMAIL (use swap name in subject line).

  • When you get the swap from your partner, add a paragraph or two to the story. Don't change anything the original author wrote, just add to your section. Don't forget to add your swapbot name to the email so that we know who wrote what section.

  • Sign up for round 2 to pass along your evolving story.

Please only sign up for this swap if YOU ARE COMMITTED TO COMPLETING ALL 5 ROUNDS. Last year in the previous rounds the co-ordinator AND some participants dropped out, which was disappointing as it was a very good swap.

This is meant to be a fun swap, no need to get your knickers in a twist if someone changes the storyline of your original story. It is great to see how the stories evolve.

All completed stories at the end of round 5 will be published on a website to be viewed by all. It is likely you might even receive your story back more than once to work on, depending on how many people sign up.

Minimum 4.8 rating. No unexplained 1's or 3's. This should be an easy one, so don't flake.

In summing up, for each round:

  • Write story paragraph

  • Add swapbot name at the end

  • Send to your partner

Is this to be sent by ordinary email, or by Swap-bot messaging? it may be a good idea to tell participants to put the swap name in the subject line if using ordinary email, as it may end up in the 'Spam' file.

Good thinking Tigerlily.

Please send as an email and remember to put swap name in the subject line.
