Description:

This swap is for 5 assorted long washi samples, to each of your 2 partners. Each sample will be 27 inches (68.58 cm) in length and needs to be wrapped the long way on a shiny surface that will fit into a #10 business size envelope (4 1/8 inches x 9 1/2 inches). For international folks, your envelopes should be approximately comparable to this USA size.

For the swap icon, I wrapped my tape 3 times around a piece of a plastic (see note below) sized at 3 3/4 inches x 9 1/4 inches. Again, international folks, please size accordingly to your envelopes.

This tape length wrapped the long way will help alleviate the creased edges that sometimes appear when we wrap some of our tape samples. Since I use a lot of the samples in card making, I don't always want to see the creases sticking up. This will give us at least 9 inches of uninterrupted sample (times 3).

Please do not send any "Dollar Store" tapes. Here in the USA, these are the tapes that are more like papery stickers and have a white edge when ripped.

Please decorate the front of your envelope with a few strips of washi tape. There is no excuse for not decorating when we have tape. :)

Sender's choice.

Note: The surface you wrap around doesn't need to be plastic. You could always cut a piece of an office file folder or cereal box cardboard in the approximate size and wrap clear packing tape around it.

Can we just use 2 playing cards with packing tape wrapped around that first? I don't know where to get a piece of plastic. I can then wrap around the playing card lengthwise.

@HelenG6 for this swap, no, please don't use playing cards. End to end they aren't that long. You could always cut a piece of thin cardboard (even cereal boxes work great) and cover it with packing tape. It could even be a piece of an office file folder with clear packing tape around it. It doesn't actually have to be plastic.

If anyone is not sure what to wrap their washi around, I have a suggestion.

I take a piece of thick cardstock or poster board and cover it with a layer of packing tape. You have to apply the tape carefully to make sure it is wrinkle free.
