Description:

I've been enjoying mail art recently and especially like making envelopes from unusual papers, (book pages, calendars, wallpaper, printed grocery bag graphics, etc). Grab some of the most unusual and interesting paper you can find and make 3 envelopes for one partner. NO scrapbooking paper for this swap. Think outside the paper pad, please.

The envelopes will be 4x6 inches or larger and will be sturdy enough to hold flat content and make it through the mail. Thin magazine or calendar pages usually need to be doubled or lined.

Won't you join in the fun?

Are painted envelopes out too? Or rubber stamped envelopes?

Thank you for the question @Lila84 What I'm looking for here are envelopes made from something you might otherwise recycle. So it would be fine to paint or stamp on a grocery bag or wallpaper envelope or envelopes made from plain paper like deli wrap. Does that clear it up for you?

Yes thank you. I'll have to experiment before joining :)

Inspiring someone to experiment makes me smile! : )

Can we used maps or cartoons from the news paper?

Lila84 05/22/2016 #

Sorry for all the comments. Can it be book pages from totally random informational booklets like on women's health or finance?

I'm sorry. I didn't see the additional questions until this evening. Yes. Magazine pages, maps, cartoons are all acceptable as long as you make it sturdy enough for mailing. Thin papers may need to be lined.
