Description:

This swap is for one new, established, or homer deco book for one partner. Adult themes are allowed, but NOT required. Please note that this can include sex, nudity, obscene language, or other potentially offensive themes. If that's not something you want to receive, please do not join this swap!

It was pointed out that an exception needs to be made for images that are illegal to distribute or possess. Do not send anything illegal, obviously.

Some guidelines:
* Theme is sender's choice. Adult/inappropriate themes are allowed but not required. You've been warned! :)
* Homers ARE allowed.
* Please send no more than one deco unless you've checked with your partner prior to sending.
* The person the deco is for (who it will return to) should be clearly noted somewhere on the deco.
* Don't send your partner a deco they've already had, or one for them.
* You can't always control the quality of decos you receive to pass on, but if you are starting a new one please make it reasonably sturdy and nice.
* Newbies are allowed with filled out profiles.

I believe no one should host swaps they aren't willing to angel themselves. I will angel if necessary, but I screen participants very carefully to minimize the risk of flakers getting in. I will remove participants with poor ratings, late swaps, drama, nasty comments, or other swapping history that concerns me at my discretion. If you have any negative swapping history and want to participate, please proactively PM me to explain. Otherwise, I may ban you with no notice if I am suspicious. And I tend to be suspicious.

Because of delivery issues, multi-profiler/flaker concerns, and site policies I require real names. If you join a swap of mine with a fake name or no last name, you will be asked to fix it.

This swap is U.S. only on account of postage costs. If you want an international version, feel free to host your own. :)

According to the Swap-Bot Glossary: A deco is similar to a friendship book and there are a wide variety of types. It is a bound book of pages which are sent around the world. The person that the book is “for” is usually listed on the cover and when the book becomes full it is sent back to them. Each person that receives and signs the deco will decorate one page according to the theme of the booklet (if there is one) and put their postal/email address and sign their name. Typically, each entrant in the “deco” must use one full page to express themselves. Glitter, sequins, feathers and other scrapbooking supplies are frequently used in “decos.” Despite the artistic expressions used in these types of friendship books, the basic rules of passing the friendship book to person to person is the same.

If you are new to decos, I can try and explain them better. I suggest PMing or commenting on my profile to get my attention faster, I forget to check swap page comments as often as I should! I am also open to private swaps for decos.

Photos or drawings of female or male private parts when sent through th U.S. Postal Service iconstitute a federal crime. Got one like this last year. Called the Postmistress who advised me NOT to bring it to the P.O. Or I'd be arrested. She suggested destroying it, which I did. Be cautious what you send.

I will look into that further... I highly doubt sending art is a crime, even if it's risque. With that said, I am going to update the swap description to exclude anything illegal.

OK I did a little bit of research on this to make sure it's ok. Good news, it is! We can send genital drawings all day long, and thus redefine junk mail. hehe.

The U.S. Post Office's standard for what's illegal to mail is based on the Miller Test for determining obscenity. For something to be considered "obscene" it must (among other things) lack "literary, artistic, political, or scientific value." This is vague and subjective enough to protect straight up pornography, much less mail art. Art is protected free speech and not subject to government censorship (yay!).

The post office isn't the morality police, and apparently doesn't enforce any kind of obscenity restrictions other than illegal things such as "sexually oriented advertising," harassment, or fraud. Obviously the Miller Test doesn't apply to depictions of illegal acts (i.e. involving children) which are themselves evidence of a crime.

TL;DR it's fine to send art with nudity or sexual content, just nothing illegal! Thanks @StarMouse for bringing this to my attention. :)
