Description:

Don't you just love getting home and finding awesome and colorful mail in your mailbox? If you do, then this is the swap for you.

This is a low cost swap, and I’ll be hosting it on a monthly basis.

For the Halloween version of this swap, you can click here.

The requirements are:

Send a super cute envelope, using any medium you want, stickers, washi tape, rubber stamps, anything, just make sure it looks super cute. No sticker slapping, this is a mail art swap, you have to put your heart into it. There’s no need to be extra talented, but you need to do your best to make your partner happy.

Look through your stash and include the following flat items:

  • 1 sticker sheet
  • 5 washi tape samples (12 inch/30 centimeters each)
  • 1 postcard
  • 1 teabag
  • 3 items of your choice, store-bought or handmade. Some ideas: bookmarks, tags, die cuts, stationery, blank notecards, handmade envelopes, confetti, postage stamps, ephemera, smash bits, project life cards, the list is endless.

Please also include a nice note for your partner in pretty stationery and don't forget to include your username and swap name.

This is a sender's choice swap, so you can get started on your swap as soon as you want. It's always nice to check your partner's profile, but ultimately this is sender's choice, so if you receive something you don't like, you can send it in another round of these swaps or any other swap.

The total weight of your envie should be no more than 40-50 grams, so that neither of us spends too much on postage. Use postage stamps if possible.

No newbies this time, sorry. I'm trying to keep this a free flake zone. Only people with a 4.85 rating. You must have at least 20 rated type 2 and 3 swaps (in total). No recent and unsolved 1's and 3's in the last year. I will be looking through everyone's profile and reserve the right to ban anyone who seems flaky or problematic.

Before joining, please check your if you meet the requirements. If you don’t, please DO NOT join this swap. As a host, I take my time checking all participants and making sure they don’t have late swaps on their dashboard, logged in during the past few days and have the amount of rated swaps I ask for. It takes you less than 2 minutes to check your own ratings and situation, but it takes me a long time to go over all swappers that don’t meet requirements and still joined my swap (and which I’ll have to ban anyway). So I’d really appreciate if you could keep that in mind.

Note to newbies: When I say I need for you to have 20 rated type 2 and 3 swaps (in total), it means that you must have at least 20 ratings in your profile, for any type of swap (except for electronic swaps). It does not mean you must have sent 20 swaps, you must have been rated for all of them. I always run into participants who do not meet the requirements and still join my swaps and then complain when I ban them, please do not join if you do not meet the requirements. I am hosting this swap on a monthly basis, so when you actually meet the requirements, you can feel free to join.

Note to participants: Please rate your partner promptly. If your swap is taking too long, get in touch with your partner to see if she forgot to rate / she’d like to wait a bit longer / she thinks it’s time to do a resend, and keep me posted. As you can see these rounds have become very popular and I’m hosting them on a monthly basis, along with other swaps, and checking if everything is ok with every single participant takes a lot of time. If you could help me by keeping an eye on your own swaps, staying in touch with your partners (letting both of us know if you’re sending a bit late), and overall keeping me posted about your envies, it would save me a lot of time and stress and I’d really appreciate it.

I will angel this swap in case someone flakes, but I'm trying to be as cautious as I can and really hope we can all have fun with this swap.

If you have any questions, suggestions or doubts, please don't hesitate to contact me or add a comment in this swap.

Happy swapping everyone!

Hi, I'm looking for a penpal/swap partner to swap items with and send each other Happy Mail. Please let me know how to do this if possible. I miss writing letters and I have cute stationary to write on. Thank you, Niki

Hi, how do you get a swap partner and what all do I have to do to participate in these Happy Mail swaps since I'm a newbie? Please let me know. Thank you, Nicole

Hey @pcfan13 you have to start with small swaps in order to get ratings and build a reputation, that's how all newbies start. I am sorry but I don't swap with newbies or accept them in my swaps. In this swap I ask all participants to get 20 rated type 2 and 3 swaps in total, so if you want to join these rounds, you'll have to wait until you meet the requirements. You can start joining small swaps that accept newbies.

Once the deadline to join a swap has passed, you will get a notification once all partners are assigned (hosts can assign partners a day after the signup deadline) and in the swap itself, you'll see a yellow box at the top right corner where you can mark when you have sent your swap, see the person you have to send to, rate your partner, etc. Hope this helps.

Hello friends! I'm new here! I'm italian. I like happy mail. I'm also a postcrossing member: https://www.postcrossing.com/user/serena90 . Now I'm trying to understand this type of swap, on this site. See you soon! :-)

Can i put a roll of washi instead of 5 samples?

milamilamura 09/ 7/2016 #

Dear @lihior I'd have no problems with that, but I honestly don't know how your partner might feel about it. So sadly I'll have to say no. I really hope you can join other rounds in the future and be able to send washi samples :)

lihior 09/ 8/2016 #

dandeliongirl 09/ 8/2016 #

Really bummed I can't join this yet. I need 5 more partners to rate me!! :(

  • Well happy birthday month @Sherry72 hope you have fun in this swap!

  • It's very simple @lihior you wrap 30 centimeters (or 12 inches) of washi tape around a playing card, or anything laminated where the washi tape can be easily removed. And you repeat the process until you have 5 washi tapes around the card. You can google "washi tape samples" and will find lots of info about it. Hope this is helpful.

  • Dear @dandeliongirl I am hosting these rounds every single month, and I'll keep on hosting them next year as well, so I'm sure you'll be able to join in future rounds!
