Update: July 14. I'm going to be late in two swaps that are due on Monday 16. The reason is because that day is a holiday in Chile and I didn't realize about it until last week. My plan was to send those swaps today (my post office is open Saturday mornings) but I was sick all week and yesterday evening I realized I just wasn't going to make it. Since I use certified mail, there's no use in me dropping my swaps in a mailbox, so I'll be sending those envies on Tuesday 17th. I've let my partners know about this.
Hey there! I'm Camila, from beautiful Santiago, Chile. I'm a freelance translator and simultaneous interpreter, I only work as a simultaneous interpreter, because it's my passion and I'm happy to work doing something I love. I don't enjoy translating as much as I enjoy the excitement of a new interpreting job, so I rarely do it. I'm also a blogger and a shopaholic, I blog about shopping, beauty, parties, DIY and pretty much anything I'm interested in. Oh and I have been studying French since like forever, oh là là !
I'm a crazy cat lady, I have three beautiful cats: Chofi (the mom, a caliby), and her children Kate & William (black / orange and white). They are the best thing ever.
I'm very curious about pretty much everything. I love fun facts and love learning, this is one of the reasons I love my job so much, because I get to meet some great people from different countries and cultures, and it's the same reason I love Swap-bot, I've met some wonderful people here and look forward to meet some more lovely swappers. If I'm your swap partner, just know I'd love for you to tell me about you and the place you live. I'm always happy to meet new people, making new friends and have private swaps.
I'm super organized and I always send my swaps on time. If there's ever a problem with the deadline, I'll let you know and I'd appreciate if you did the same.
I also rate as soon as I receive my swaps and contact swap partners before rating them down. I understand mail can be slow sometimes and things might get lost in the mail.
Important note: Mail to and from Chile can take several weeks. I sometimes receive my mail after 2-3 weeks, but 8 weeks is also normal, so I always wait at least two months before considering anything as lost. And even though the Chilean postal system is not the fastest or the most reliable, my incoming mail is very reliable (lucky me!). I use registered mail for my outgoing mail, so if you're waiting for one of my swaps, just contact me and I can share the tracking number with you. I have an app on my phone called TrackChecker and I get daily updates with the status of my outgoing mail, that way I make sure everything arrives safely, but if for some reason it doesn't, I'm always happy to resend :)
One of my favorite things about swapping, is that I get to be more creative, I always have the best time putting swaps together, creating something fun that my partners will hopefully like, shopping for something nice and upcycling envelopes from shopping bags, magazines and anything I can think of. I'm always happy to receive upcycled envelopes or knowing one of my partners reused one of my envies.
I have more hobbies than I can think of and I believe a lifetime won't be enough for me to do all the things I want to do, the places I want to visit, the tv shows I want to watch and the things I want to learn. But I do my best and I always keep myself busy.
First thing you should know about me: I'm very easy to please. If you were kind enough to make or pick something nice for me, I'm sure I'll love it.
Huge fan of beauty products, makeup and glitter I LOVE glitter SO much! I only use certified cruelty free products, I don't support brands that perform animal testing and it's very simple to find cruelty free options, here's PETA's list of brands that don't do animal testing and here's the list of brands that do test on animals. Some of my favorite (affordable) brands are Wet n' Wild, NYX, Essence, Catrice, Physicians Formula, E.L.F., Burt's Bees, EcoTools, Bath & Body Works, The Body Shop, DM, Balea. I also love Too Faced, Urban Decay, Jeffrey Star, Kat Von D, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Milani, Tarte. Favorite products: Eyeshadows, eyeliners, highlighters, primers, colored mascara, brushes, blush. I love every single color, gold, silver, black, pink, purple, etc. (I have fair skin, blond hair and green eyes btw). Dislikes: Animal tested products, foundations, primers, anything that needs to be matched with the skin tone (because it's best if I pick them myself).
Tea: I love tea, especially black, flavored and unflavored. My favorite is chai and chai latte. And I am currently obsessed with green tea, flavored and unflavored. I also love fruity and sweet teas. I have too much herbal tea for the moment but if you'd still like to send some, I wouldn't mind. All other tea colors and a varieties are always welcome! Dislikes: Earl Grey, hibiscus and rosehip (any tea that will turn red).
Coffee: I don't like coffee but my parents love it, so if you have any coffee sachets you'd like to share, I'll be more than happy to receive them.
Chocolate: Milk, dark, marzipan, mint, caramel, nuts, I like it all! Dislikes: Raisins and dry fruits in general.
Candy: I'd love to try some candy from your country. I'm happy with everything! Except for things with gelatin like gummy bears and marshmallows, unless they are a vegetarian/vegan version.
DIY: I love DIY projects and love handmade things, so feel free to send me anything made by you. I also love craft supplies, I'm into many things: Mail art, smash journaling, watercolor, scrapbooking, I love working with paints and paper!
Postcards: I love all postcards! Touristy, commercial, non touristy, animals, funny, weird, offensive, love them all!! And specially love when they're written! If you ever join a swap where the requirements say the postcard should be unwritten, please feel free to write on it (if you want to of course). I like them so much better that way and of course I won't rate you down for doing so :D
Party Planning: I LOVE party planning. I'm always thinking about the next upcoming event and love the fact that my family jumps on board right away. I'm great with decorating, my mom is an awesome cook and my sister loves to help her. And my brother and dad love to eat so.....we make an pretty good team. I'm always happy to receive cute paper napkins, paper straws, place cards, balloons, party invites, gift bags (for party favors), party decor, you get the idea. All items and themes are welcomed, Halloween, Christmas, Spring, Summer, Winter, Fall, Classic, Vintage, Tea Party, Picnic....anything really!

I'm a vegetarian, so please no meat, no animal cruelty. No feathers, leather, etc.
I'm not a religious person, but I love learning about different religions and cultures. I don't mind receiving religious items, as long as they're sent respectfully. I really like Buddhism, not so much as a religion but as a philosophy and I'm always happy to receive Buddhist items.
I recently bought a recipe book and I intend to fill it up with colorful recipe cards and paper goodies (like a junk journal), so I'd be happy to get some recipe cards from you, blank or written (veggie only please) and please add your Swap-bot username or IG username on your card, I'd love to remember my recipe book contributors. Any food themed stickers, scraps, cut outs, paper goodies, stamps, etc....anything you think I could use, please send it my way, thank you!
I don't mind receiving opened/used items, as long as they're not rubbish of course. So any cling on stamps, stamp pads, opened/incomplete packs with paper goodies/stickers.....reused/recycled/upcycled envelopes, yes please! I love getting eco friendly goodies in the mail.
Makeup and beauty products. Things for my smash journal or planner. Stationery, lettersets, rubber stamps, inks, washi tape, papers, post its, office supplies, words and phrases in your language (I love slang), souvenirs and unique items from your country, beauty or decor magazines, vegetarian recipes, healthy cat wet food/snacks, cat toys...etc.
As a vegetarian, I don't eat regular gummy bears or anything with gelatin, but I absolutely LOVE vegetarian gummies. I can't find many in Chile and the only ones I've tried are Katjes, they are awesome, and I'd love to try other brands as well. If you have them in your country and would like to send me some, I'll be really happy. Dandies (vegan marshmallows) are always welcomed as well.
Spices: I'm not so much into cooking, but I am into eating hehe. My mom loves it and gets super excited when I join spice swaps and we get all kinds of spices from different countries. If you'd like to send her some spices instead of something for me, that would make us both really happy. She loves to cook with new spices and I love to try new dishes, you see? Win win for everybody.
I'm a huge fan of Cosmo magazine. I have an iPad subscription to Cosmo Chile, U.S. and France (to practice my basic/intermediate French skills). If you want to send me a copy of your local Cosmo magazine, I'd be delighted! Even if I don't understand a word, it would be awesome. Oh and Flow magazine is another favorite. Well, any beauty, decor or travel magazine will make me happy.
Letter stickers, they're never enough! Bush pens, markers, anything I can use for calligraphy and lettering.
Postage stamps, my mom has a huge collection and I've started to contribute with some stamps as well. I also like to save the really cute ones for my smash journal.
These are only some ideas and may help you get more inspired, hopefully. But honestly, feel free to send anything you think I could like. Or check my Pinterest and/or my Instagram if it helps.
I collect anything Alice in Wonderland related, paper goodies, postcards, even books with different illustrations. I love to collect things related to Tea Parties, or anything that can be useful for any party, I like to entertain. I also love The Wizard of Oz and anything with cats, whenever I see something with a cat, I just have to get it!
If you ever send postcards related to any of my collections, again, feel free to write on them!!
And I also collect magnets from different countries, touristic and unique/cute ones as well. I have tons of them now and most thanks to all the wonderful swappers who've contributed to my collection. So I'd be super excited if you'd like to send me one from the place you live. That would mean the world to me.
I remember being a kid and hating books, I never liked the ones they gave me at school, until I was about 12 years old and discovered Harry Potter in my living room. I loved it! I'm still not a huge fan of books, but I do like to read anything Harry Potter related or cats related. I prefer magazines though.
