Aquarius/January New Moon Prayer Flag

This is the third in the Astrology Prayer Flags. Whether or not you identify with the specific sign, we are all effected by the Moon as She travels through the zodiac.

You will have one partner and create one prayer flag. You do not need to sew. Prayer Flags are meant to set our intentions and when they are put outside to fly in the winds, our intentions are offered up. They are meant to disintegrate when the prayers are answered so it is important to make them eco-friendly to any animals that might be attracted to them. Best to use 100% cotton, and nothing on them that might choke a curious member of the Animal Nation. Cut your fabric at 6" wide and 12" long. Make a hanging sleeve by folding the top over 3" and securing it either by stitching or even hot gluing. The finished flag will measure around 6" wide by 9" long. Optional: Add a ribbon through the sleeve for hanging with ends long enough to attach it.

This month's NEW MOON is in Aquarius on January 28.

New Moons are the time of each month where we consider our next steps and start new things, or find better ways to do what we do. It is a time of promise and hope.

We combine this energy with the zodiac energy of the Sun and Moon, so close to each other that there is no reflection of the Sun on the Moon. She stands primal in the sky without that influence.

When the Moon steps into Aquarius, She is friendly and a humanitarian; honest and loyal, original and inventive, independent and intellectual. As lofty as that seems, there is another side to this energy because this is a fixed Air sign: She can be contrary, unpredictable and seem very unemotional and detached. Often she feels more at home with friends rather than family members. While the Moon is in Aquarius, we can feel strong willed and forceful in different ways and have strong convictions, though we seek truth above all things, during this time we are usually honest.
